A Broken Maddie

I feel the tears fall down my face, again, as I try and fall asleep. I can't help the very loud sob that escapes from my mouth. The door to my room opens and in comes my mum.

"Maddie, what's wrong?"

"I don't feel good," I cry.

My mum slips into the bed and lays down beside me. She takes my head and lays it on her lap.

"Boy troubles?" She mumbles.

I nod my head and another sob escapes.

"Is it Brooklyn?"

I nod my head again.

"What's wrong?"

"He's dating Sofia," I cry.

"Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry." She says and hugs me.

"Honey, don't let it get to you, okay? You've gotta hold on."

I grab her arms.

"I'm holding on, and I won't let go."

"Okay," she says.

"We might be here for a while," I tell her and shut my eyes.

"That's okay."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." My mum says.

I fall asleep to her words after I just found out that Brooklyn and Sofia kissed.

I wake up to my phone beeping. I open my eyes and let them adjust to the darkness in my room, before grabbing my phone.

I look at the missed call from Brooklyn, and then another missed call from Victoria. Nothing from Sofia.

I open my call app thingy and listen to Victoria's voicemail first.

"Hey, sweetheart, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to have a shopping day with me and Harper tomorrow. You can bring your mum as well if you'd like. Call me when you hear this or get the chance to. Love you, bye."

I smile and decide right then to go shopping with her, Harper, and my mum tomorrow.

I then listen to Brooklyn's.

"Mads, it's Brooklyn, I wanted to say that I'm sorry you had to find out the way that you did and I'm sorry I haven't spent so much time with you lately. I'll talk to you later? Well, love you, bye."

A smile forms on my lips as he says he loves me, then goes down when I remember how I found out about the kiss.

I told Sofia two days ago that I liked Brooklyn and that I swore it wouldn't ruin our friendship with her dating him. Yesterday, while Romeo and I were jogging, my phone let out a ding and there I saw pictures of Sofia and Brooklyn kissing. I had stopped running and Romeo stopped as well and looked at my phone screen. I then fell to the ground and started crying. Romeo knelt down beside me and wrapped his arms around me. We were sat there for ten minutes with me crying in Romeo's arms. I then found out later that Sofia told Brooklyn that I have a crush on either him or Romeo. My guess is she told him I liked him.

Paparazzi had been following us and took pictures of Romeo holding me in his arms, and Brooklyn got the wrong idea and now thinks that I like Romeo, so I don't know what he thinks anymore.

I text Victoria and tell her I'd love to go shopping tomorrow and that I'll ask my mum, then lock my phone and lay back down in my bed.

I feel like I am just a broken Maddie...
