"Okay, David and I will be out until late tonight, and Brooklyn should not be here while we're gone, so you should be good, my dear." I smile at Victoria, and she to me, before she grabs her things and her and her husband leave the house.

I shut the door and lock it before going into the living room to spend time with the three siblings. I sit down next to Harper and Cruz with Romeo sitting by himself.

"How's life been since the last time I saw you three?" I ask.

"Nothing much really." Romeo says and continues to gaze at the television.

"What about you, Harper, do you have a boyfriend?" I playfully wink at Harper and she giggles.

"No," she shakes her head and giggles again, "I stay away from boys."

"Good, they're bad news." I say and fix my gaze on the television.

Half an hour later, I'm putting Harper to bed and hanging out with Cruz and Romeo in the kitchen, where I'm also making something for us to eat. I finish and look at the food.

"Grilled cheese?" I ask the two boys, who happily take some.

I take one for myself and take a bite.

"This is one of the best foods I've made my entire life." I moan and the boys agree.

"I thought you couldn't cook anything, no offense." Romeo says and I just smile.

"I didn't either, so no offense taken." I tell him.

I put them to bed after a while and make myself comfortable on the couch in the living room. I turn the volume down and watch old reruns of Friends. I lay down and place the soft blanket on top of me. I place my glasses on the coffee table and watch the blurry television.

As I'm about to fall asleep, the door opens and I jolt up. I rub my eyes and yawn before standing up. I fold the blanket and put it back where I got it from and make my way to the front door. I stop walking once I see Brooklyn. He talks to someone and when he leans down, I know it's his girlfriend. A few tears roll down my cheeks as I slowly walk backwards and back to the couch, where I place the blanket on me again and pretend to be sleeping.

The door shuts and his footsteps get closer to the living room, so I keep my eyes shut. His feet stop moving and I can hear his breath above me. I feel his hands take the blanket off of me and then making sure it's completely wrapped around my body. He leaves for a couple minutes before returning and placing a pillow underneath my head.

Right when I think he's leaving, he kisses me on the forehead and whispers goodnight and then leaves.
