I wake in a hurry, the sudden alertness causes me to gasp loudly. I sit up straight looking around the room, only to find Peeta dressing quickly. "Hurry!" He says. "Get dressed there's something want you to see."

I groan, but throw the plush covers off of me and begin to dress. I throw on a low necked shirt with a scarf, sure it may not be cold but it will hide the marks Peeta has made.

Once in done dressing he grabs my hand and pulls me out of the door. He drags me through the winding streets behind him, our pace is fast. Suddenly he stops short and I run into his back. I bend over with my hands on my knees trying to catch my stolen breath. I'm breathing so hard I don't have time to hear the commotion going on in my ears.

I look up to find men and women lined up wearing brightly colored outfits. They each play instruments and march in place. Their music fills my ears as I hold onto Peeta and he wraps his arm around me. He points to one of the instruments. "I used to know how to play that." He says into my hair. I smile thinking about something besides me bringing him happiness.  Maybe I should get him his instrument for his birthday? It's not too far away.

"What's it called?" I ask.

"A saxophone." He replies not taking his eyes off the player.

I can by his eyes he misses it. Misses being able to play, and make up his own songs and tunes. Misses being a free spirt and misses his cake decorating.

I sigh and continue watching him watch the band. I take his wrist and look at his digital watch. It's only eight o'clock. I stand there like a wife and wait for him to finish watching the band. When he's finally done he takes me into a coffee shop. "Look." He points to the menu. "They have fancy coffee drinks here, you can get them flavored differently."

"I want caramel." I smile.

"Alright, caramel lattè for m'lady." He smirks to the man behind the cash register. "And I'll have the French vanilla cappochino." He nods.

The man smiles and rings up out total, if this were back in district twelve they wouldn't have charged us. But they were hit hard here in district four. All of their power at one time or another was shut off, their ports were closed. No supplies in, no supplies out. They couldn't get any imports or food. They relied off the sea for food, and for their water. But they were as much to blame for their down-hill destruction as I was. They also rebelled, they wanted to fight also.

We pay our fee and then walk from the Resturant, the warm liquid warming my hands and throat as I drink it. It's so much better than a regular coffee. I sigh looking up at the district. It's so beautiful.

As I'm not looking where I'm going, and looking at the district I run into someone. My hot coffee spills down my front, and I fall to the ground. "Oh my, I'm sorry miss." The voice says.

In still recovering from the burning feeling of my clothes when I look up. "Finnick?" I breath.

He looks down at me with those beautiful sea green eyes, his dirty blonde hair spiked upward on his head. "Your alive?" I ask. He extends a hand to help me stand.

"I'm sorry I-"

Someone taps my shoulder, Peeta. "Are you okay?" He asks. I look back to the man, who know is not Finnick.

"I'm sorry I-uh." I stutter.

"It's okay." He smiles. "Finnick was my brother."

"Oh." I smile. He slips a hand in his pocket and pops a sugar cube in his mouth. "These used to be our thing." He says holding one up to my face. "Would you like one?" He asks politely.

I do, I need you. #wattys2016Where stories live. Discover now
