I step into the warmed shower, Peeta's just left for my mother's house. We're going our for the day, not together. But he's going with Gale, Blaze, and Haymitch to shop for suits for their weddings. Annie, Cressida, Effie, Johanna, and I are going to look for wedding dresses. I use my favorite rose soap and wash my hair with matching shampoo. Peeta loves the smell of it.
I finish my shower and look at my stomach, thank god in not pregnant. The test Peeta got me last week said so, and I had my mother make sure.
I dress in a pretty sun dress, it's getting hotter lately. It's the beginning of April, I can't wait for Summer it's my favorite season. Everything seems to start blossoming and growing. Animals have their young, it's just beautiful.
I'm slipping on my shoes when Peeta comes through the door. He smiles look it me up and down. "Doesn't someone look beautiful?" My cheeks blush as he wraps his arms around me. "Are you sure I can't come with and pick your dress?" He teases.
"Yes." I smile. "I'm sure, you can't see it it's a tradition."
He lets our an exaggerated sigh. "Fine, but you do still look beautiful."
"You look handsome." I smile. He twists his face in confusion as he steps back putting his hands out to the side.
"I'm wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants." He laughs.
"Well you always look handsome."
"Do i?" He smiles wiggling his eyebrow and pulling me close again. "I'll have to keep that in mind."
"I guess so." I smile as he pulls me in and kisses me slowly. Our heads bob as our lips move in perfect sync. "So everything's good with mom and Rye?" I whisper as he kisses me again.
"Perfect." He whispers when we take a quick break for air.
"Alright." I glance at the clock and finally pull away for the last time. He tries to fix my dress from his hands and touching me as I make sure my braids tight. "I have to go." I say.
"Do you need money?" He asks.
"It wouldn't hurt." I shrug. He walks to a small leather wallet on the table. I guess it's his. He hands me three hundred dollar bills.
My breath hitches in my throat as I look at the bills. I've never held this much money.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"I've never had this much money." I admit looking at him. "Have you?"
"One time I held five hundred dollars, it was the bakery's money though." His face lights up thinking about it. "Would you ever want to rebuild it?" He asks.
"I think it'd be good for you." I nod.
"But do you want to rebuild it?" He persists.
"You'll never be home." I say saddened at the thought of him working everyday.
"I'll run the place." He says. "I can pick and choose when I work, like you do with being in charge or twelve."
I scoff. "I haven't done a thing with that."
"Exactly." He presses his lips to mine and I break putting the crisp bills in my purse of sorts.
"I've got to go meet the girls." He nods kisses me again. "I love you."
"Love you too." He smiles before I shut the door. A light rain dances over the ground of district twelve. I walk to Annie's house she shares with Johanna. My mother is there today, she used to live there. When we got back from district eleven, but she moved when they requested for her to work in a Capitol hospital.
