I walked through school with a smile on my face and a romantic gaze all day. So when I got the calculus, I wasn't surprised when Mr Daylights suspected something was going on with Kenton.

He started off by eyeing the both of us, then pairing us up for group work. He watched us interact with each other, studying us closely as if we were his lab rats or something. It made me feel uncomfortable, thinking about how my teacher was observing me more than the rest of the class.

But for obvious reasons, that thought wasn't the biggest one on my mind. It was the memory of Dan kissing me. Holding me like he was going to loose me. And oh the way his kiss felt on my lips when he would back away. It tingled up to the point where I would giggle and he'd kiss my cheek, nose, or forehead.

And that's when it happened.

"Daniel! How may I help you?" I looked up at Dan, seeing him totally ignoring me as he walked right past my desk.

"Hey Mr Daylights, I was wondering if there was any way I could get my friend Ned's homework and missed class work? He's out sick today and told me to come and ask you for it."

"Sure thing, Zoe may you show Dan where the absentee work goes?"

I smiled as my cheeked flushed a deep rosy shade, "Of course."

Dan followed me in silence, to the corner of the room where the absentee papers went. "How was your day today?" I questioned with a smile.

"It was okay." He shrugged, "I mean it could've been better."

"Everything alright?"

He nodded, "Yeah, just a lot on my mind."

I frowned as I searched for Ned's papers, "I hope you're not regretting what we did." I said just loud enough for only him to hear.

"You say it like we had sex." He whispered with a laugh.

I blushed at the word, then looked up at him. He was still beautiful as ever, his lips looking more kissable by the moment.

He leaned against the wall, "Please get the papers and focus. We're not supposed to be too friendly in school."

I rolled my eyes, "You'd think after kissing me, you'd take my feelings into consideration."

"Look, Zoe, I don't have time for your bullshit. Give me the work so I can leave."

His words and tone shocked me. I felt like he just stabbed me with a dagger.

"What the hell is your problem?" I growled at him. Great, we kiss and now we're back to square one.

"My problem is that just because we kissed doesn't make us a thing, Zoe. All we did was hook up."

The words punched me in the face, and I felt like an idiot. Of course. Why would a guy like Dan like a girl like me? I'm so gullible.

I found Ned's work, snatching it out of the bin and pushing it against Dan's chest as hard as possible, "Take the shit and leave."
