Louis . That's all I have to say
*

My father sent me out of the house today. No reason at all, he just wanted me to get fresh air. I think he's inviting a lady over, in my honest opinion. But I kept my opinion to myself and made way to the park.

I was sat on a bench right in front of the playground, a book in one hand and a mug with hot tea in the other. My earbuds were blasting, so it was safe to say I couldn't hear anything currently.

I kept to myself for the most part, except for when an old lady walked past who asked for directions to a shopping market that was across the street. But she was old, so I saw no point in being rude.

I got bored halfway through the book, and shook my mug, seeing I had no more tea. But I came prepared, as I had two bottles of water in my bag. Always be prepared.

I looked up at the playground to watch the kids play, but to my surprise I saw two teenagers on the playground instead. They were clearly having a blast, hanging upside down from the top of the playground, chasing one another around, and racing on the monkey bars. I sat back, already knowing who it was.

Kenton and Daniel dropped down from the monkey bars, rushing to the swings. They were acting like children, but who could blame them? The only part of each other that they really remember are the childish parts.

Daniel beat Kenton to the swings, jumping on the only open one, yelping when Kenton pushed him off, laughing. Daniel practically did a backflip off the swing when he was pushed, as he landed on his stomach. I chuckled, watching Kenton begin to swing. Daniel did something I wasn't expecting, he jumped on the side of the swing, putting his arm around the handle so that he had some kind of support, then held his other arm out. As Kenton got higher, Daniel jumped down, scared of falling off.

I wished to approach them, but I went against it. They were alone for a reason: they were making up for lost time.

Kenton got down from the swing, then stood in front of Daniel. The two discussed something, then in the blink of an eye, ran at supersonic speed to the infamous tree stump. To no surprise Daniel was the first there, but tripped and fell atop of it. Kenton bursted into laughter, helping his best friend off the floor.

Daniel scrunched up his nose, then laughed. Kenton sat on the tree stump, Daniel sitting next to him. They both sighed, before one of them started talking.

I smiled to myself, picturing in my head the way the two of them used to climb up that tree and sit on the branch, talking to one another. They were the most energetic boys, and from what I just witnessed, I could tell that they still are.

I began to wish I had a best friend. I mean, would it be fun? I've never had a really great best friend before, but that doesn't mean I don't want one.

I got up off the bench, walking behind the trees and sneaking behind the one I hid behind when I set them up to meet up here.

"Remember when we were walking home from school, and you thought a bird was stalking us?" Kenton asked, and Daniel sighed as Kenton laughed.

Daniel grinned, "Look I was a stupid child alright, but I swear it was following us!"

Kenton shook his head, "Maybe it thought you were cute."

Daniel didn't reply, just pushed Kenton for the tree stump, then got up and ran, giggling. Kenton rushed to his feet, chasing after Daniel. "I'm gonna kill you Daniel!"

I shook my head, sitting on the floor and looking at my phone. The moment I was about to unlock it, it rang, and the selfie Daniel and I took at the beach popped up. Why was he calling me?
