Double update heyyy
*"Here are your tables for today," My coworker pointed to my name, "You're helping serve section two for two hours, which tables you're serving are ten, twelve, sixteen and nineteen."
I nodded, "Got it."
"Alright, get to work Zoe." He stated before walking out of the kitchen. I grabbed my apron, putting it on over my clothes and patting it down. I sat back, waiting for somebody to tell me that I have customers waiting to be served.
My contacts burned, but because Kate's a little bitch, I had no other choice but to wear them for the time being until I saved up enough money to buy myself new glasses. It'd take me a few months, but it'd all be worth it in the end. Besides, I think I have spare glasses laying around somewhere in my room.
Somebody walked into the kitchen, walking up to me, "Zoe, customers at tables ten and nineteen."
I grabbed my notebook and pen, "On it." I put them in my pockets, fluffing up my curly hair as I walked out.
I walked through the crowded restaurant, keeping a smile on my face as people looked at me. When I stopped at table ten, I looked up at the family with a smile, "Hi everybody! I'm Zoe, I'll be your server for tonight, can I start you off with some drinks?"
The mom started, "I'll have a tea."
"Coffee for me." The dad shrugged.
Their son looked at me, "You're pretty." He smiled at me, kicking his feet under the booth table. He looked about seven.
I bent down, "Aw, thank you."
"I'll have apple juice please!" He exclaimed, spitting a little on my face. I let out a bland chuckle, writing down their drinks. "Are you ready to order?"
"Not yet, give us a little time?"
"Of course, I'll be right back with the drinks." I nodded, walking towards table nineteen.
I played with the elastic bands around my wrist, debating whether I should put my hair in pigtails or not. It's so annoying at school since I'm always looking down, but now that I'm at work, I can let my hair down and just enjoy actually feeling pretty.
I stopped in front of table nineteen, "Hello everybody, I'm Zoe I'll be your waitress for tonight, can I start you off with some drinks?"
The table was silent. I looked up, seeing Kenton and Kate staring at me with dumbfounded looks on their face. Oh Jesus no, my worst nightmare is happening.
People I know at school are at my job.
Kate scoffed, "Well well, diner girl, where's the pigtails and the glasses?"
I sighed, "Please don't, Kate. This is the only place besides home I don't have to deal with you." I spoke in a low voice.
Kenton cleared his throat, "What are tonight's specials, diner girl?"
"Tonight's special are-"
"These nuts!" Kenton rudely cut me off, making him and Kate giggle. I huffed, whipped around and walked away. I walked over to the drinks machine, getting the family's drinks first before pouring two cups of water and placing them down on the tray before lifting it up. I stopped in front of table ten, putting on a fake smile before placing their drinks down in order.
I then turned to table nineteen, slamming their drinks down in front of them. Kate put her hands up in defense, "Oh, watch it! Diner girl's getting angry, she'll raise the price on your food."
