Today's Friday. Tomorrow's Saturday.
That's all I had to tell myself to get myself to school. That and, well, Kenton would be there. At least, I hoped he would. After the way Kenton's date ended last night, he didn't seem happy with Kate or me. He and Kate both blamed me for their awful date, but I knew Kenton wouldn't have liked the true side of Kate if he actually ended up with her. Plus, as much as it hurts, I want to see Kenton with somebody who genuinely liked him, not with somebody who only likes him for his popularity and his charming looks.
Now, I don't own any five inch heels, but I do know Gigi goes, and damn I know how Kenton likes his women tall. Not sure why, I always thought short girls were always a good choice for men, but I guess not.
Kenton had weird tastes in girls, he likes tall, blonde females who either: dressed like Beyoncé on stage or dressed casually and didn't care what people thought of their appearance. Mostly the second one, he likes his girls down to earth.
I grabbed my notebook out of my locker, shutting it and looking down the hall. There I spotted Kenton walking along side of a short blonde girl. He was about five inches, maybe five eleven is my best estimate for his height. She was much shorter, even in her heels. Her high heel boots clicked against the shiny new floorboards of the school with each step she took. She's young, she's happy, she's exactly Kenton's type minus the height.
It made me smile.
Seeing Kenton with a girl who made him happy made me happy. As long as she was everything I didn't want him to fall for, she's okay in my book.
They stopped in front of what I believe to be her class, then turned to look at each other before sharing their goodbyes. She pecked his cheek, smiling at him as she walked into the classroom. I then realized that was my classroom, which made my heart stop. It's a totally different story when the girl is in my class. Since when is Gigi in my English class?
Kenton walked off, which meant I could walk in without seeming like a creep that followed around him and his girlfriends.
Once I settled down at my desk, I looked over at Gigi at the other side of the classroom. She looked at me, grinning before looking back at her papers. I grabbed my pen and smiled to myself, mentally patting my back as I thought, you did a good thing, Zoe.
The teacher walked in soon after the bell rang, making everybody head to their seats before Mrs Santos or Mr Smith yelled at them for not doing so.
Mrs Santos walked in first, "Good morning class, how did your days go yesterday?"
No response, which she was used to. It was normal for us to ignore Mrs Santos as we watched her write the do now in silence. But once I saw what Mrs Santos gave us as a do now, I already knew that this was going to be a long period.

I looked over my shoulder, sighing slightly before sitting down at the empty lunch table. I unwrapped my food, grabbing my spork to prepare myself to eat when I looked up for a split second. I saw Kate wondering around the cafeteria, staring at me. She was on the prowl, ready to kill, and I knew it from that glare, I was her prey.
I avoided eye contact, looking around until my eyes landed on Kenton and Gigi, who were sitting alone, talking. They were by the drink stand, so I decided to go get a very long drink.
I got up from my seat, walking over to the drink stand, standing in line quietly. I lowered my music, looking anywhere but them as they chatted.
"Gigi, you gotta believe me, I swear it didn't happen."
Gigi scoffed, "That's not what I heard."
"You were fine this morning, why the sudden mood change?"
"Because Kate told me right before now that you and her went on a date last night. What the hell am I, a second choice?"
"Of course not-"
"Oh so I'm just you're side chic? Kenton I'm nobody's side chic." She scolded him.
Kenton sighed, "Babe-"
"Don't you babe me!" She stood up, "Kenton Shad, I have no time for your games!"
"Gigi wait-" he stood up quickly, watching as she stormed off.
I glanced over at him for a quick moment, sighing. I had to fix this..
"Zoe!" Oh no.. "Zoe!"
"Yes Ka-"
I didn't even get to finish my sentence, as her drink went flying in my face. Kenton looked over at me as the cafeteria erupted in a sea of laugher, Kate tossing her cup at me, "You bitch! You ruined my date last night!"
I wiped the Snapple from my eyes, looking at her through my burning contacts, "I should strangle you, but your tight button up shirt is doing that for you."
I looked over at Kenton, who was smiling at me. I dropped my head, walking back to my table, "You're on my list, nerd! You're at the fucking top!"

I slipped the envelope into Kenton's locker, freezing when I heard an all too familiar sigh come from down the hall. Kenton was on his way.
I raced down the hall and hid behind the nearest trashcan, peeking over as he opened his locker. As he opened his locker, he looked at the envelope that slowly fell from the inside of his locker.
Kenton bent over and picked it up, looking around before opening it up. He read it, then quickly dumped everything out of his bookbag into his locker, rushing to shut it and ran into the stairway.
"Yes!" I mentally gave myself a pat on the back, jumping up and racing to the first floor. When I got there, I rushed all over the school until I finally found the correct room, looking inside to see Kenton and Gigi.
I watched as they chatted away, and I put my ear to the floor opening, "I'm sorry." They both said in unison.
"No, I'm sorry. I overreacted." She stated.
Kenton sighed, "But I should've waited a little longer."
"And look, just because we aren't dating doesn't mean I don't care about you at all." I peeked up through the creek, seeing her grab his hand, "I really like you, Kenton. I will always care about you."
Kenton had nothing to say. He stood and stared at her for a little, before kissing her cheek. She blushed and my blood boiled, but I relaxed when I noticed something.
I actually helped someone out.
