Chapter 966

~ Saturday ~
Narrator's POV
It was time for people to start filing into the church and as they did so, Amirah stood at the front microphone in hand and the music began to play.
I didn't know today would be our last
Or that I'd have to say goodbye to you so fast
I'm so numb, I can't feel anymore
Prayin' you'd just walk back through that door
And tell me that I was only dreamin'
You're not really gone as long as I believe

She finished sing Jealous of the Angels which had made Damien, Samantha and her younger sister Sarah break down even more.
Amirah took a seat next to her husband and child and the pastor began to preech.
He said a few kind words and prayed.

Janelle was first to speak

"What can I say? Sapphire's my best friend and always will be. I honestly can not believe that she's actually gone. We've gone through so much together, our first borns have the same birthday"

Jayden squeezed Samantha's hand.

"Erm" she sniffed and then sighed "I just really can not believe this. Sapphire was always so bubbly and so happy" she smiled "even though she new her time was coming, she stayed positive and I really do love her for that. She always knew how to put a smile on my face. I'm definitely gonna miss her" she wiped her tears and went to take her seat next to Damien as the audience clapped.

The pastor returned to preech again and pray and it was Samantha and Sarah's turn to go up.
Samantha couldn't compose herself and so Sarah spoke first

"Erm, my mum is the best woman I've ever met if I'm honest. She's always been there for us. Always provided for us. But most of all, she loved us and I couldn't love her more" she smiled weakly and stepped away from the microphone.

Samantha wiped her tears and stepped towards the mic.
She sniffed
She took a deep breath
"My mum..." Her voice trailed of and she shook her head. Sarah held onto her hand. "Erm my mum is the best mum I could've ever asked for. She's always loved cared and provided for me. And she always supported my ideas and I love her for that. She was and still is my biggest role model" tears streamed down her face "I miss her so much" she broke down and Sarah gave her a tight hug and they left the front of the church as people clapped.

Samantha took her seat next to Jayden and he held her tight.

Damien walked up to the front looking down at his feet.
He removed his black shades and looked out to everyone.
He smiled abit
"I didn't even prepare anything to say today but what can I say? Sapphire is the best thing that's happened to me"
The audience smiled
"She's just the best wife I could've asked for tomorrow. She always knew how to make me smile and - she was just perfect" he shrugged "there really is no other way to describe it. I remember the day we got married and she was so nervous" he smiled "I remember she was like "what If I trip walking down the aisle"" he chuckled and the audience laughed with him "i told her that we got this, everything will be fine, trust me. And she did. Sapphire trusted me and I trusted her. She loved me and I love her. I can't believe she's gone and words can not describe how much I miss her." He put his shades back on " I know she would want me to be happy so that's what imma do"
He walked back to his seat and everyone clapped.
The pastor came back up and said a few words and Amirah returned to the front to sing, when she neared the ending of the song, the coffin was carried outside.
Sapphire lay in it with her favourite dress from Samantha's newest line named after her.
