“Will you stop biting your nails?” KJ said irritably.
Napasimangot ako. “I can’t help it. I am extremely nervous.” I continued biting my nail.
“It’s disgusting,” he snorted.
I ignored his remark. Pero tinigilan ko na ang pagkagat sa kuko ko.
Kasalukuyan kaming nasa byahe papuntang school. Kagabi pa ako hindi mapakali. Kanina nga paggising ko ay napangiwi na lang ako sa nakita ko. Ang laki-laki ng eyebags ko. Daig ko pa yata ang zombie.
I glanced at KJ.
He looked…relaxed.
How can he look calm? Doesn’t he even have a slight of anxiety in his system?
I sulked. “How come you’re not edgy?”
“Ah kasi hindi ako OA?” He retorted, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Inirapan ko lang siya. “Ang yabang,” I murmured.
He chuckled. “Is there a reason to fret?”
I crossed my arms and gave him a stern look. “Aren’t you afraid that you guys might get kicked out? Sina Zach paano na? Graduating pa naman sila.” I sighed. “Nakakalungkot naman pagnangyari iyon. Parang pati pangarap nila, e, biglang maglalaho na parang bula.”
KJ grimaced, still looking at the road. “Will you stop thinking of those things? Haven’t you heard that pessimism attracts negative results?”
I frowned. “Who said that?”
He shrugged. “Imbento ko lang.”
Nag-isang linya yata ang mga mata ko sa sinabi niya. “Way to go, boyps.”
He just smirked.
“Jerk,” I muttered.
