With Jeremy out of town, Jayden doing some bonding with his dad and Papi trying to keep the peace at his parents house; I was trying to figure how to keep the peace in my own family. Yesterday Paul let it 'slip' that I've been talking to and hanging out with Donny and when my Uncle Donte heard that he started cussing me out accusing me of being a traitor, then my mom started cussing him out and to both me and Gavin surprise and anger my dad took my uncles side and pretty much gave me an ultimatum; pledge Omega Psi Phi or get disowned. Needless to say we argued for hours and when it was finally said and done Gavin gave my dad and ultimatum let me make my own decision or lose his entire family, now we were taking some of my mom's stuff over my grandparent's second house until my dad got off his period. Hopefully my Uncle Chris could talk some sense into his brothers since he was the most level headed of the three.
"Thanks...." My mom said quietly, me and Gavin looked at each other and I could tell she was still pissed over everything that happened. "I don't know what your father's problem is, his bum ass didn't pledge until his senior year of college..... I really hate him." My mom said, even though she said it as a joke I couldn't help but feel I was tearing my family apart.
"Ma.... I'm sorry." I said sitting on the bed next to her. "I can't help but this is all my fault. I've known all my life that dad expected me to pledge but I'm still on the fence about it.... maybe if I could make up my mind...."
"Giovanni don't let your dad force you to do something you're uncomfortable with. His short ass just needs to sober up and I'll talk to him, because he's been trippin I mean pledging isn't that serious forreal." She said laughing.
"Why am I the only one moving all these clothes?" Gavin asked walking into the room and leaning up against the wall.
"Because I asked you to do so Junior....... but I'll allow you to take a short break, I'm proud of you for sticking up for your little brother. We all know how close you and your dad are and I know that couldn't have been easy for you." My mom said pushing her hair out of her face.
"Yeah well I don't want control my kid, guide him maybe but that controlling stuff......." Gavin paused and looked at my mom who just stared at him blankly. "F***k....." Gavin said quietly as my mom got up and walked over to him.
"Junior is Whitney pregnant?" My mom asked and Gavin nodded slightly, I closed my eyes and waited for the sound of a slap to be heard because my mom told us (mostly Gavin) not to bring any babies home before bring home a degree but after a few seconds I cracked my eyes and she wasn't there.
"Uhh... where did she go?" I asked Gavin who shrugged, a few seconds later my mom came back in with her coat on and a smile on her face.
"Why are y'all still sitting there? Let's go spend your dad's money on stuff for my grandbaby." She said and I was always down for spending someone else's money.
Three hours of walking around the reminded me why I hated shopping with my mom, we spent about two hours in the same store now we were waiting in the second while she grabbed random baby stuff, not even caring about the sex of the baby. Thankfully Jeremy gave me a valid excuse to walk away for a few minutes, besides this was Gavin's kid not mine my good was to spoil and send them home. I found a table in the food court and sat down, looking at the screen to see my baby's sex ass staring back at me.
"You look horrible." I said joking.
"Shut up, I had a rough night. Matt came down here and we all went out, then we ran into Darius and he was buying everybody shots and now I got a massive hangover." Jeremy said and I tried not to let that bother me but it did. "Nothing happened in case you were wondering but if someone wants to buy me drinks I'm not going to turn them down, even if it is Darius." Jeremy said and I cracked a smile because I didn't blame him, it's like Lil' Kim said 'why spend mine, when I cane spend your?' so that made me relax a little.
"It's coo Jeremy as long as he didn't try anything..... he didn't try anything did he?" I asked.
"Nah he was actually only made small talk he mostly argued with Naomi, but they've always been like that so it was kinda like high school...... except now I've got a better dude." Jeremy said trying to stroke my ego and no lie it kinda worked. "Where are you?" Jeremy asked.
"At the mall clothes shopping for Gavin's kid, to be honest I could've spent this time in the gym but knowing my mom she'll probably want to go to like three more stores and I'm kinda on a schedule." I said.
"You make it sound like you got a date." Jeremy said laughing.
"Nah it's just that me, Gavin and Denzel are driving to Chicago to meet up with Donny so they can talk...... and before you ask yes I'll be back before you get home so I can give you this di....." Someone slapped me in the back of the head and I was about to cuss them out but it was my mom.
"Hey baby." My mom said taking my phone to talk to Jeremy. I walked over to Gavin who was holding a bunch of bags looking pissed.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to help carry some of this?" Gavin asked irritated and as a younger brother it was in my DNA to piss him off even more but I decided that it would be better for us both if we were on the same page going into the meeting with Donny and Denzel because I already knew this was going to be intense.......
I talked to Jeremy from the time we left the mall all the way up until we were pulling up to Donny's apartment, I really didn't want to hang up but he understood that this might get a little physical and I might need to step in so I told him I'll call him later and went inside while Gavin waited for Denzel.
"Wassup Gio." Donny said letting me into his apartment. Donny looked past me into the parking lot and saw Gavin sitting in the car boobing his head to the music, I saw a flicker of anger cross his face and knew I had to calm him down before things got heated before they even got the chance to talk.
"Donny...... man you said you'll hear them out." I said walking over to him. "You seem like you're ready to fight and they haven't even stepped through the door."
"Yeah well there's a lot of resentment there I love Denzel.... and Gavin but I'm still going to beat their asses." Donny said making a drink.
"What about Paul?" I said ignoring his last statement, Donny smirked and took the entire drink to the head.
"Paul's always been a b***h..... and there's no point in beating his ass because we all know Paul can't fight I would feel like a bully." Donny said laughing.
"True..... but look Donny this little meeting is about forgiveness, if I can forgive Nik's punk ass then you should be able to forgive Denzel and Gavin." I said sitting at the table.
"See you got to get your revenge on Nik so I figure I...." Donny said and I got irritated.
"It's not about revenge, I forgave Nik for me not him and if I can forgive Nik.... someone who I've never really liked even though we're family then you can definitely forgive your brother who you still love and look up to." I said, Donny stood there mumbling to himself when Denzel and Gavin walked in the house. Denzel didn't say anything he just walked into the kitchen and started looking around.
"Zel what the f***k are you doing?" Donny asked pissed but Denzel just walked over to the trash can and opened the lid.
"It's good to know some things never change, Donny did you really expect us to believe you cooked this? Come on lil' bro I taught you this trick, it's common knowledge neither one of us can cook." Denzel said pulling out a bag from a restaurant. I started laughing and even Gavin smirked Denzel and Donny stood there staring at each other until Donny walked over to Denzel, I stood there ready to intervene if I had to but Donny so quick I could barely register it. Denzel recovered holding his nose but he was still smiling. "And you still punch like a b***h, I taught you better than that Donny." Donny smirked before pulling Denzel into a hug.
"Aight man..... I guess we got a lot to talk about." Donny said quietly, what was said in that apartment I won't repeat because some things needed to stay between us but when it was all said and done we were back in a good place which was more than I could ask for, now I just had to major things left to deal with my dad and Ezra........................
