This poem symbolizes my feeling of sadness, but it doesn’t stop there. Here, it creates a feeling when you’re sad, and after a while, you become happy, only to become sad again after a few moments/days. That feeling when you wanted to give up because every moment in your life is melancholic, and when things seem to brighten your day, an event comes along and destroys your happiness, like that of a frustrated relationship (I didn’t expect that.) That is why I named this poem “Repeating.”

REPEATING

And once, I’ve had a lifetime sleep

A thousand mem’ries soon to go

A way to wells, it went too deep

Have let the rivers free to flow

And twice, the sun had set in mine

The pages aged with Time’s embrace

My words have filled each length in line

But letters cast with diff’rent ways

And thrice, the seashore hid the sea

With every dying wave in hand

Her love returned calamity

With each sin printed in the sand

O fate! Again thee bitterness

They paid my pearls ingratitude

My heart’s a-weak in hopelessness

Thy life’s comfort is solitude
