GENESIS

I am not made

From flesh, you see

Not one fragment

Of family

I am not dust

From lowly earth

I am not seen

I am not heard

I am not soul

The living part

Not one organ

Nor a true heart

I am the air

The breath that fills

The time and space

That boredom kills

You take me in

And shut me out

You have no sense

To hear me shout

You suck me up

Invisibly

You call my name

Disdainfully

You need me when

You breathe too late

And throw me when

You suffocate

You kill yourself

And crawl in fear

Do you not care

My presence here?

I sacrifice

For you to live

For it's my job

To always give

I do not mind

The words they say

I do not mind

Each passing day

I don't complain

This agony

For I choose not

My destiny

I have no time

To stop awhile

I have no time

To cry or smile

I just do things

I need to do

To keep you safe

Alive and new

I have no voice

To tell you 'Hi'

But I can say

My last goodbye

If you need me

Just breathe me in

Just take my life

And let me in

I walk, you run

I fly, you soar

I die, you live

Ten seconds more
