It was during this time that I got acquainted to such a beautiful song: “River Flows in You” by Yiruma (이루마 in Hangeul.) Anyway, I was so inspired by this piano piece, like I even imagined myself being so sad because my friends got sick and passed away, and so do my other loved ones (seriously, but that won’t come true anyway, knock-knock-knock-on-the-wooden-stuff), like I can’t even explain to you how much it hurt me so bad that whenever I listen to this emotional song, I can’t help but feel sad about life. This song also reminds me of a close friend of mine who is also a heart-felt person, like this person also thinks about things thoroughly, and I just can’t imagine this person in the waterloo of life, like this person is full of optimism, and I can’t imagine why I thought of this person as a sad one. Maybe it’s because I treat my friends like true brothers and sisters, like those nearest to my heart including my parents and my true sister. Anyway, I’m getting over-explained, so just read it. :))) (P.S. I was overwhelmed when I first wrote this, because it was my first time to deviate from my usual four-stanza length, unlike this one with eleven stanzas.)

AN ELEGY FOR RIVER FLOWS IN YOU

O, take my hand; away we fly

To farther dreams untouchable

Take me to new dimensions’ sky

To deeper seas unreachable

Take me to grasslands soft and green

And lie me down in precious touch

Remind me of the things unseen

Of flowers that I miss so much

Take me to streams in forest ground

And listen to the voices deep

I hear an echo, softest sound

A heartbeat’s unmistaken weep

Don’t cry, don’t cry, it isn’t done

There’s still some time, some love, some hope

Continue, to the notes we run

Let’s tie our broken-hearted rope

Don’t cry, don’t cry, all things do last

There is a smile in ev’ry page

Tell me again about the past

All buried in our book of age

Take me to seas’ serenity

I’ll hold you, guide you with my eye

Even the storms’ calamity

I’ll go to where the road will die

Take me to beach in sunset time

Lend me your heart, your warm embrace

Doth hold me close in fading clime

Doth kiss my lips and leave a trace

Don’t cry, don’t cry, I will return

Those tears will all soon wash away

And keep our flames in heart to burn

My breath is near and here to stay

Don’t cry, don’t cry, it’s over now

I’ve said too much and I must go

Give me your hand and cup somehow

I’ll drink it for I love you so

Remember me when you are cold

When Death has made you spiritless

Remember me when you lost hold

When Death has stolen happiness

Remember me when you are nigh

When life is broken, frozen be

I’ll be there ev’rytime you cry

Forever goes eternally
