017: Stairs

This poem is specifically inspired by the Batch Tagumpay of Darwin International School, Pulong Buhangin Branch. Anyway, this was written the day before we cheered for our beloved (really?) students, and if this person knew this (confidential! You know who you are), and this person kept a copy, thanks. Actually, I wrote this poem behind the good-luck letter to a fourth year, so if that person kept it, as I said thanks again. :))

STAIRS

To climb, to reach, to walk, to run

A travel to the endless streams

To grasp the jewel of the sun

And open eyes to brighter dreams

Impossible! What mission heed?

To hold such elements in sight?

You yearn for treasures that you need

Fire, wind, water, earth, dark, and light

Protect your nation; you are hope!

Your Father’s ladder of progress

There is no time to sit and mope

Your Father’s stronghold of success

O, fifteen di’monds from the mine!

O, fifteen blizzards from the west!

O, we shall dance and drink some wine

For you, we’ll sing the songs, the best!
