Inspired by the titles of the "project books" of my high school classmates, each first line of each verse is a title of each book we made.

COUNTERPART
A flip-side
Turn against the fading memory
A path, barren and indistinct, twisted
A wallow carved and melting
Gaseous blood diffuses
Wax and acid tears
Random circumstances
Conjure a simple getaway
Mistaken first impression, of doom
An ambiguous undercurrent
Caught under the influence
Modest temperance
Attitude matters
Paint the mockery-stained façade
A trance of smooth inflection, voice
Affective afterlife cycle
Reiterates the critical point
Overt smile
Different paths to success
One that bends in a lacerative line
To meet the same end
Keeping the heart unknown
To those who can recall
A familiar name
Love, happiness, and everything in between
Rendering the middle phase void
Closure upon closure of bond
Finger, every finger untouched
Grows a new life ahead
A twinkling hope
It's time
Every piece of love must let
Go the distance, decision unfold
Walking like a shadow possessed
Spiral around the edge
Footsteps erased
A boy becomes a man
Solid, clueless crowd deposed
Lock on, target of totality
Evolve into the dawn of change
Like a veiled butterfly,
Mind metamorphosis
A heart full of love
Truth was the common eye
Until the scars were wounded, struck
Hair shall fall upon a face
