Chapter 11: The Church

Beat and Erina went to a big manor that had 3 floors, with a giant garden filled with every type of flower you can find in the world and two giant trees. A lot of guards were in the entrance and many famous people were entering. It was truly a party. Erina was scared more than excited. Beat didn't like the place at all.
-Beat: A place were famous people drink, laugh of the poor people and everyone prepares a plan to take out the others.
-Erina: Well, I'm scared... I'm going without a weapon and there are vampires that could kidnap me...
-Beat: If they try, they'll be dead before touching you.
-Erina: Thank you... What the church wants of me?
-Beat: I don't know... I don't like this. It seems like a trap.
-Erina: A trap!? They must know about Chase and Winggates!
-Beat: No. They are using you as a bait. To find all the vampires that kidnap people to drink their blood. Disgusting! They want to let you die, only to find a bunch of vampires! Totally usual of the church! Let's fall in the trap but then blow it up from the inside and catch Winggates.
-Erina: Hm... I sense that it won't be that easy.
Erina and Beat get out of the car and go to the entrance of that manor, a gatekeeper stops both of them.
-Gatekeeper: Name?
-Erina: Erina Hell. Invited by the church. And my bodyguard is Beat Graves.
-Gatekeeper: Mr Graves and Lady Hell!? I cannot believe it!
-Beat: Ahhh. A fan of mine?
-Erina: Beat... Almost all the city admires you.
-Beat: True. (Sighs) If they let us bring another bodyguard I would have asked Sylvia. She loves these parties.
Erina gets out a paper that was an invitation to the party from the church.
-Erina: You can check this.
Erina gives it to the gatekeeper. He looks it and surprised gives it back.
-Gatekeeper: I'm sorry to keep you waiting, Ms Hell. You can enter with your bodyguard.
-Erina: (smiles) Thank you.

Erina and Beat enter in the manor and see lots of famous people, a lot of butlers giving glasses of different alcoholic drinks and also they could see many soldiers of the church. Those soldiers had the clothes of a father and had different guns, some had rifles, others shotguns and others miniguns. Beat and Erina go walking through the place and a man stopped them. He had a tuxedo and he seemed a rich boy.
-Boy: Who you are?
-Erina: My name is Erina. And you?
-Jake: My name is Jake. Jake Winggates.
-Beat: “Winggates!? I don't like this!"
-Erina: Oh! You are family of Ceasar Winggates? A friend I have in common with him told me to talk with him for a certain trouble. Could you tell me where I could find him?
-Beat: “Like that will work! I'm not buying this crap. He won't be that stupid!"
-Jake: Oh! A friend of our werewolf, no? Chase was a good friend. Sorry for your loss, Beat.
Beat looked him and was about to shot him to dead.
-Jake: Right now, the church is here for 2 things. One: Kill your bodyguard, Erina. Two: Kill the vampires.
-Beat: You want to die, huh? Perfect! I brought a lot of toys to kill you.
-Jake: Ceasar is here too. He is in the third floor. Forget catching him.
-Beat: We have a spy in White Hope.
-Jake: Oh no! Just I knew that if Chase didn't come, and you came that he was dead. We even have a protocol.
-Beat: I'll break that protocol. (Whispers to Erina) Go after the gun when the lights are out. Vinnie left it where we talked.

Beat throws a cube that was a biological bomb. Vampires who inhaled the air in the moke started bleeding until they died. That bomb has a virus that kills the erythrocytes of the blood vessels of the vampires since the blood that they drink is modified before going to the blood vessels. That modification is recognized by the virus. The VK virus.
Then all the butlers started bleeding until they died. They were all vampires.
Beat shoots first Jake in the head and then the lights and in the darkness Erina runs to the girls bathroom.
Then all the church soldiers started shooting everywhere but they had so bad aiming that they hit the other people.
-Beat: Why so jumpy!? I only did your job! Oh, well with that aim... I think that you should be everything unless police, gangsters or church soldiers. And forget of being monster hunters! Even in the dark I can hit you. Hearing your breathing!
Beat walked near of a church soldier and put a crux in his chest. The crux perforated until reaching the heart and exploded.
-Beat: Hey, your heart exploded of seeing me! You are a fan? (Laughs) "I had my share of fun. Better stick to plan B"
Beat goes to the entrance.
A tall man with red hair and black eyes that wears a red tuxedo was walking to the first floor when he saw that the entire floor is in the dark. He started thinking in escaping but then a surprise happened. Erina with her gun was aiming him.
-Erina: Ceasar Winggates, I assume. Surrender, we have you trying to kill us. Beat had a microphone in inside his jacket. And Jake told us about your protocol for taking us out. So we can relate you and the werewolf assasinations. So the werewolf won't eat all your fault. Not even an ounce of it. Why? Why you caused so much damage?
-Ceasar: Want to know why? Happy 20 years from the war!
Ceasar gets a gun and aims to his head but Erina shoots Ceasar hand and his legs.
-Erina: Slow. Now you are arrested for several assasinations, manipulation of a werewolf, attempt of assasination of 2 monster hunters and conspiracy. You have the right to call an attorney, make a call to someone else and to remain silent. Everything you say will be used against you.
Erina grabs with her left hand Ceasar and carries him to the entrance.
-Beat: Hey Ceasar! Thanks for using my friend as a killer! Well, if the police eats you up it would be perfect. I'm being too sarcastic?
Lots of church soldiers appear.
-Beat: It seems that no. Hey soldiers, how's going your health plan? Apparently great! But in reality, you should have called it off.
Beat throws a smoke grenade that was made with silver and magnesium. Beat shoots and every soldier starts burning.
-Beat: Hey, Ceasar. You want a godly cigar? There's a godly fire coming from the soldiers.
-Erina: Boss!
-Beat: What!? I'm only getting the chance!
-Erina: You have limit?
-Beat: For church soldiers that try to kill me? Let me think... No!
-Erina: Agh. I cannot stand this. Can we just do our job? Before something even more strange happens?
-Beat: Okay.
Beat grabs some handcuffs that he had and puts them to Ceasar and he and Erina grab him and go to the HQ.

The case is solved. The bad guy has been caught. Some lackeys killed. By the way, the last ones burning survived. They were lucky of being modified to resist that. And Beat was in bad mood. Who wouldn't be? Well, there'll be another chapter talking of the case. Only one more. The after case chapter.
