Chapter 22: The singer that made the people cry.

Beat went inside the house and found Erina talking to a tall man with short golden hair, brown eyes, with a sad face and also Beat noticed that he had cried because his eyes were red of crying. That man was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and black shoes and in his left hand he had a teddy bear. At first it was shocking but Beat quickly thought that it was of the girl that was kidnapped. Beat went to see how it was going when the man saw him.
-Man: Oh, Mr Graves! The famous monster hunter that stopped the rebellion of the skeletons!
-Beat: That's way too far in the past... And better that we don't talk of the past.
-Man: You will find my daughter, no!?
-Beat: I'm sure that I'll find her and bring her alive. “I cannot let him lose his hope. It can be... devastating."
-Man: (His eyes are filled with hope) Thanks!
-Beat: I must ask you some questions. Maybe some are already answered but I rather prefer hearing the answers from you.
-Erina: Be easy, Beat. I only could calm him.
-Beat: Okay, Erina. That means a lot of work.
-Man: What you want to know?
-Beat: His daughter had an enemy?
-Man: All the extremist monsters, all her opponents in beauty contests, several politicians... A lot of enemies. All of them hated her by her words or by her beauty.
-Beat: She was a pacifist?
-Man: Yes! And one of the most involved in the pacifist movement! Even she composed a song. Yet she said that a friend gave her some pointers. A werewolf. But he's dead now.

Beat looked down. It remembered him of how he killed coldly his friend Chase. And that hurted him more than no one could expect from him.
-Beat: How he died?
-Man: Hunted for hunting a control pill industry.
-Beat: His name was Chase?
-Man: How did you know? Oh, you hunted him!
-Beat: And he was a friend of mine. An old companion.
-Man: Sorry, I didn't know...
-Beat: More possible enemies. Can I see your daughter's room?
-Man: Of course!
-Beat: Thanks. By the way, explain what happened when your daughter dissapeared.
-Man: Okay. It was 22:00 when it happened. She finished composing a song. A jazz song. Also she had plans of composing a requiem for her dead friend, Chase. She usually has her room totally closed when she is composing. But then I heard a scream and ran to the room and opened it with my key of her room. But she wasn't nowhere to be found already.
-Beat: There are secret rooms and things like that?
-Man: Of course! Some secret passages that connect the entire house and also to the outside.
-Beat: And the police checked them?
-Man: Yeah, but they couldn't be opened. I blocked the passages from outside myself when I first bought this house.
-Beat: But the police opened them.
-Man: Yes. Unless two that were opened before but none are near the room of my daughter. How did they manage to avoid the cameras?
-Beat: Do you have surveillance cameras?
-Man: Yeah, but they didn't catch anything.
-Beat: Erina, call Vinnie. I think that someone played a hell of a job hacking the cameras.
-Erina: Okay!
-Man: My dear Iris! I really failed her!
-Beat: No one could avoid this. I'll find her. Now I have even more reason. Chase would be happy if I saved her. At least trying to be the one he looked up to. Also I have one last question: How many people has the key to open her room?

The man started thinking trying to remember everyone that had a key. Beat looked around the house and saw many cops searching for clues.
-Man: Me, Iris, my wife Amelie and my butler Alfred.
-Beat: So... unless the butler is the one that has kidnapped Iris, right now I cannot think that the key was used unless it was stolen. Check if you all have the key.
The man checked if his key wasn't stolen but he couldn't find his key, he started sweating and then he started crying again.
-Man: My key! My key was stolen! I truly have failed Iris!
-Beat: We are talking of a prepared attack. It wasn't easy to avoid, if it could be avoided.
-Man: But who could know all this!?
-Beat: If someone hacked the cameras, it was very easy to know.
-Man: And the police said that it was impossible to hack these cameras!
-Beat: Everything that is connected to a computer can be hacked. Only is a matter of time. I'll go to Iris room.
-Man: Find the one that has done this and save Iris, please! With Ms Hell help and your help I'm sure that I'll see Iris again.

Beat goes to Iris room, and found it in perfect state. It was a pink room that had a desk that had some drawers where she had many letters of fans saying that her singing made them all cry, a lot of shelves that had a lot of trophies and many photos of her winning prizes for her singing, a clothes closet filled with clothes and near of it there was a pair of cobblers filled with shoes, also there was a big pink bed that had a pink lamp near.
-Beat: Pink overdose... This room puts a new meaning to that. I always say that red or black are better. Well, time to focus in checking this room. And what a group of newbies these cops. Checking everything unless the room where the victim was kidnapped... Good idea for losing your time. I hope that Vinnie can find the guys that hacked the camera. I won't discard that they were only mercs of someone that wanted her out of the way.
Beat starts looking the area and finds blue blood in the ground. It was the blood of a skeleton since the skeletons are like the humans but instead of the normal skin of humans they have a “skin" that is made of bone and it was like the humans unless that they could grow bones to fight. Beat knew that very well.
-Beat: So this is a skeleton job... Or not? I'll have to check all to be sure. I'm not going to let a friend of Chase die because I failed in investigating.
