Chapter 61: Vaas, The Hitman

Beat had been calling Vinnie but since he was not answering the phone, Beat decided to call Alphonse.
-Alphonse: Who is calling!?
-Beat: Here Beat. I need your help with a bullet.
-Alphonse: You usually ask that to Vinnie.
-Beat: Yeah but that bloody bastard of Vinnie is not answering.
-Alphonse: A trouble after all. Still, this was not your free day?
-Beat: Yes. And I took Erina to the cinema.
-Alphonse: And the gore got real.
-Beat: Ha. Ha! Get your ass over here! I think that it is a hitman and if I am right… The hitman will be trying to get the summer pay by catching Erina.
-Alphonse: You think that Francis would do that?
-Beat: Guess my thoughts.
Alphonse was like 2 minutes thinking while Beat explained all to him.
-Alphonse: Makes total sense. That bastard could pull it off! Regains her granddaughter for his plan, gets you in a mess, kills another of your friends. A fast Christmas for that bastard!
-Beat: See?
-Alphonse: Give me ten minutes and I arrive there!
Alphonse finished the call and prepared all,even a portable lab that he had developed.

Meanwhile, Beat was asking the people while he cleaned the blood that he had on his neck. Erina tried to find more clues but she only found that the culprit had to be fast, a really fast sniper.

After the 10 minutes, Alphonse had arrived, he took the bullet and started investigating who could have used it. After 30 minutes of hard work, Alphonse had found out that the bullet was made for a skeleton whose name was Vaas. But who was this Vaas was something that no one knew. But Shiro had a pale face when he heard of Vaas. Beat noticed that and asked him.
-Beat: Shiro, do you know who that Vaas is?
-Shiro: I know him. He was a member of my unit. He became a hitman after the war.
-Beat: He was the sniper. We have to catch him.
-Shiro: If he is in business, I may try to stop him.
-Beat: He tried to blame you for what he had done. He is ready to kill you.
-Shiro: Then what you want to do?
-Beat: He will have faith in his skills. But I cannot die. Let us see how he can fare against someone who cannot die.
Beat talked to everyone and made them all go inside a room, Erina included. Then he locked them up and kept the key to himself.

Beat looked for any sign of an attack but then he saw a small phone that was being called and Beat answered the call. The one that was in the other side had a really deep voice.
-Beat: Smart move kiddo. You are Vaas, I assume?
-Vaas: Yes.
-Beat: Good luck at sniping them. I have the key and I locked them in a room.
-Vaas: Why do you get in my way?
-Beat: You are a bad killer and I am a good killer. The difference is none unless that I work for people that pay me in a legal manner and you don't. And I am doing my job even in my free day. Could not do that again? By the way if you retreat now, you can leave. I just want that my girlfriend has a good day for once!
-Vaas: Seems like you and I are going to kill each other. Erina Hell will leave to be your girlfriend.
-Beat: So my guess was right! Tell to Francis that I am going to shove him in a cell for this!
-Vaas: So, you even know who paid me?
-Beat: I know of politics enough to know that Francis is a bastard!
The phone that Beat was holding was shot and Beat started laughing.
-Beat: Time to rock!

Beat VS Vaas! Impossible to kill VS a hitman! Will the hitman find a way to kill Beat!? Who knows!
