Monster Hunters: Beat Grave and Erina Hell's Adventures.

Chapter 23: The call.

Beat checked the entire room trying to understand how the skeleton entered into the room of Iris. The skeleton stole the key and while the cameras were disabled, he went to the room and then he went to grab Iris but Iris saw him and punched him with enough power to make him bleed. Which said a lot of the bone structure of that skeleton.
The skeletons change their bone structure with "magic". It wasn't exactly magic, it was more like life essence made into a liquid, which people called magic since it could ease the pain without causing any addiction. There has been cases of silver skeletons, Beat had to kill one of them. But most skeletons are made of calcium or lead, still they were pretty weak and could bleed easily which made them unable to do jobs that required a lot of power.
But even knowing that, the government didn't do nothing for them. That caused them to choose between starvation or robbery. They wouldn't accept starvation so they robbed, kidnapped, killed... All to survive. That caused a hatred from everyone else.

Still, how the skeleton could grab Iris and when she could damage him? That's what Beat couldn't understand. He looked all the room and under the bed there was a handkerchief that had a strange smell.
-Beat: So, the skeleton knocked out Iris using a sleeping draught. Later he could just grab her and go to one of the secret parts of the house that were opened and leave. But how he or she knew those parts? And weren't all blocked thanks to Iris father? Time to grab that blood and maybe Alphonse can find us a culprit. Checking all the house is a drag and I won't have time. That skeleton was smart. Using the house to make us harder to track Iris. But still, I think that here I'll find something to find where they took her.
Beat grabbed a little laboratory tube and put the blood there. With that they could find of who it was that blood but not his or her current location. Beat searched in the desk for proof and found in one of the drawers a phone that wasn't of the girl because it was a little broken. So Beat thought that was the phone of the culprit.

Beat turns the phone on and sees that it doesn't have not even a code, thing that made him smile.
-Beat: Let's see what he has...
Beat searches all the messages and finds a plan of a building, which was the house of Iris. Beat now knew that the culprit had a contact that could enter in important places. Which meant that this was a kidnapping that wasn't for a normal ransom. Beat searched more in the phone and found that the culprit was a demon. For being exact a spectra. Beat only heard of them in stories of the war, where they controlled people and firced them to betray their friends, companions, family... Which meant that it could not be a skeleton. Unless the spectra controlled the skeleton.
-Beat: A spectra? Crap. First time fighting a spectra. I cannot know how to fight it well... For now. I'll have to search its entry in our books about demons. But I think that they control people using sounds. Like we kill zombies with bloodline.
The monster hunters always kept updated the books of monster and they had always guides of how capture or kill them. But even Beat knew that spectras weren't usually seen, which caused that people questioned if they really existed. Beat was used to have to work his way against some special monsters and he was used to update the books of monsters, but this time it was different. An spectra could control anyone near to him and break any law without punishment. Beat knew that even for him, this fight would be hard.

A few moments later, a lot of phones were ringing. Someone was calling the house. Iris father answered and he had to give the phone to Erina.
-Erina: Who is there? Why you want to talk with me?
-???: Because you are the new companion of Beat Graves and you have a connection with Francis Hell. Am I right?
-Erina: (sweating) How much you know?
-???: Mmmm... Not enough. I only know that. Still, I want something. 300 millions. 5 hours. In 3 hours and a half I'll tell you where to go.
-Erina: Where's Iris?
-???: Pay to find her. Still... She might want to cry a little. I was a little mischievous with her.
Beat arrived running to the phone and grabbed it.
-Beat: Hey spectra. How's living as a legend?
-???: So she stole my phone. I only want money handed down by Erina.
-Beat: For what? To control her and cause a big trouble?
-???: Let's say that she's my type.
-Beat: Perverted bastard.
-???: Oh. Now you are honest? Thanks for the compliment!
-Beat: You know that I can just shoot you to death?
-???: Oh! How fearsome! Before you have to kill a skeleton, Iris and anyone that comes near to me. Even then, I can just control you.
-Beat: Let me guess. You control people using sounds?
-???: (The voice sounded afraid) How you knew? HOW YOU F*CK*NG KNEW!?
-Beat: I learned a lot of the brain thanks to project bloodline.
-???: I should've guessed that.
-Beat: Release the skeleton and the girl. After that, I'll let you go. That's my offer.
-???: If I don't do, I can call myself dead. Am I right?
-Beat: Yes.
-???: I could kill Iris now and cause a war. My offer was put and I won't accept yours. 300 millions in 5 hours. Erina knows the rest.
The spectra hangs out. Beat was smiling. He learned an important thing and with that a way to protect Erina from that spectra.
-Beat: “I'll make Erina enter in the story for stopping a spectra." Gentlemen, let's hunt a spectra.

Beat has learned a lot of a legend. But it'll be enough?
