Chapter 28: The Spectra is free

Beat and Erina brought the spectra to the police but before delivering the spectra, Beat decided to seal his mouth, only to avoid that he controlled Erina or himself and not only with cloth. He literally put enough tape to fix an entire building in Kall's mouth.
After that they did an entire report and Beat went to talk to Iris.
-Beat: Iris... You were a friend of Chase, like me. Do you have any idea of why he did all what he did?
-Iris: He planned even his death. He wanted to stop the procontrol pill, no matter what the cost was.
-Beat: And Ceasar was his best chance.
-Iris: He was asked to kill me. But he didn't do that. Instead he talked with me and explained to me what was happening to the werewolfves.
-Beat: You mean that he discovered that the procontrol pill would kill next generations of werewolfves?
-Iris: You knew that?
-Beat: It was a fact. Put poison into a living thing and sooner or later you'll kill it. The speed only depends on the dose of poison. But what I could do?
-Iris: I understand that feeling. Knowing the truth and being unable to help. Is it a drag, isn't it?
-Beat: Never better said. I still remember that he always laughed at my jokes, no matter how bad they were. And also how he helped me when I lost a companion. (Crying) Dammit! If that spectra is related to Ceasar, I'll discover the connection! And I know that someday I'll learn that.
-Iris: First they have to put him in prison.
-Beat: After the trial. But well that's not my concern. At least for now.

Several days after, a surprising thing happened. The spectra was found not guilty of any of the crimes done. The people of the city became very angry with the judge and with that anger, a lot of people started thinking that the spectras were untouchable thanks to their voice. But no one knew where Kall went. But Erina found a lead. She knew that the spectra controlled the judge since him surely talked with Kall and for doing that, he would have taken out the tape that Beat did.
One day after the trial, the judge died. He killed himself using poison. But after that, there was several thiefs that never stole nothing until that day and all of them went to the same place to deliver the money. And she went there.

It was an abandoned house, with nothing more than a TV and a bed. It wasn't in good shape, the wood floor was broken, the walls were old and rotten. In the bed there was Kall sleeping. Erina grabbed her gun and aimed to the head of Kall. Kall opened his eyes and saw Erina.
-Kall: So you found out? Smartass. I could kill you.
-Erina: You won't. Surrender. Beat will come after me. I know that because when he calls me, I won't answer. He'll come very quickly.
-Kall: Really smart. You use his fear in your benefit. But if you do that... In what we are different?
-Erina: Many things but one thing is sure. I won't allow you to escape from your sins. You'll have another trial but this one won't leave you open your mouth.
-Kall: You think so? As long as you aren't the judge, I'll escape.
-Erina: What is your relationship with Ceasar? Answer.
-Kall: Or what? You'll shoot in my legs? Again? I really don't care.
Erina aimed to the stomach of Kall.
-Erina: Do you want to see your insides?
-Kall: Oh. If Beat was the one aiming... I would be scared.
-Erina: You almost killed my dad. And one thing of the Hell family that you should know is that we get angry quite easily. So answer now!
-Kall: Oooh. The good lady will shoot me. Nah. You won't. I'm not guilty of anything! If you do that, you'll become a thug. Still... You should look to your family. Thanks to Francis and his friends... I have suffered a lot!
-Erina: That's the bad luck. Having him as family is a drag. Still, if you think that for killing innocent people, tricking them to steal for you and all the other things you can change your luck, that's a stupid mistake.
-Kall: Well, causing that a girl looks at me makes it worth.
Erina captures Kall again and seals his mouth again. She goes to deliver him to the police and there she warns that no one opens his mouth or he'll control th judge.

The next week, Erina reads that the police followed her warning and that made that Kall was found guilty. All the newspapers talked of Erina, the girl that captured a spectra twice and of how she found out where he was. Everyone in White Hope was celebrating that Erina stopped the spectra. Beat went to talk with Erina.
-Beat: Brave good girl. That's how we should call you. Still good job in following the leads.
-Erina: It is my job.
-Beat: Heh. In a few months you'll be better than most monster hunters in White Hope.
-Erina: Buuut?
-Beat: You should have killed him.
-Erina: This way brings more closure than killing.
-Beat: Indeed but the other way is safer.
Beat and Erina keep talking.
