Chapter 50: The survivor

Beat went to see what the noise was and saw a tall human with black hair, black eyes with lots of scars and was losing a lot of blood. That human wore torn shirt, blue jeans filled with holes and black sneakers. Beat aimed with his gun to the human to intimidate him.
-Beat: What were you doing here?
-Gary: I am Gary, a known journalist. I was searching a bit of information of the newest drug and what it did exactly. But then all happened and I was found out. Luckily I played dead and survived.
-Beat: So you've seen the attack, huh? Perfect. Can you tell me?
-Gary: No. I don't know who are you but... I cannot trust in a man who aims his gun at me.
-Beat: I am Beat Graves. The monster hunter.
-Gary: So you are here to investigate the drug too?
-Beat: To stop its production.
-Gary: You know that it helps the user to see better?
-Beat: And gives them more power?
-Gary: Also that. But after 20 days you end unable to move.
-Beat: How many doses?
-Gary: 20 doses. 1 dose each day.
-Beat: Good information but what happened is more important.
-Gary: I'll tell you now. And don't worry about the bleeding. It is fake. I have the power to create a substance similar to blood.
Gary sighed and the bleeding stopped.

Flashback:
Gary was searching the warehouse to find the drugs and then found four demons. They were talking of something about increasing the power of the drugs and lower the toxicity but there was one who had a shotgun and a gatling gun that aimed the gatling gun at other demon.
-Killer Demon: You owe Big Papa around 200000 dollars. Pay now.
-Demon 1: I can't! I have not all the money. I have the monster hunters after my back too!
-Killer Demon: Then I might have to kill you, destroy this warehouse and take the drugs you have done.
-Demon girl: You are drugged no? How many doses you had already?
-Killer Demon: 18 doses.
-Demon 1: Stop using it! You will kill yourself!
-Killer Demon: So be it! I have to take care of the hunters too.
The Killer Demon shot with the gatling gun at one of the demons, the others started screaming and tried to hide behind the machine that made possible the creation of the drug but the killer grabbed the machine and broke it and threw a part of the machine apart. Then the other demon boy tried to protect the girl but the killer shot two shots of his shotgun that only shot 3 fragments, killing the other demons.

The killer saw Gary but Gary forced his body to do a fake bleeding and played dead.
-Killer Demon: Perfect. The hunters will think that this man attacked, they attacked him and the both sides died. For once clearing the area is easy.
And after saying that the killer left.
Flashback end.

Beat looked at Gary with a surprised face.
-Beat: You have the devil's luck boy. If he wanted to ensure your death, right now you would be like cheese.
-Gary: Yeah. I was lucky but I have hope on it. Better die while faking my death than trying to escape and die.
-Beat: Good idea.
-Gary: Now you know what I know.
-Beat: Get the hell outta here.
-Gary: On it sir!
Gary started running out of the warehouse and Erina found Beat.
-Erina: Any lead?
-Beat: I know what the drug does. It is way too good to not be a military drug. Get DNA of the demons and we will search who these poor bastard are. Also we must know who this Big Papa is. Seems to be a gang leader but guessing won't give us the truth.
-Erina: Okay. Then we call Vinnie?
-Beat: Of course. We will need him.
-Erina: On it.
Beat sighed and sat down on the floor. He was tired of the case already. It was way too bizarre for him all of this but at least he had a lead and a lot of clues.

Beat has found many leads to find the drug dealers but seems that he will face a gang? What will happen? Stay tuned and if you like the story, vote.
