Chapter 41: Lucy, the information dealer

Beat found Vinnie and Alphonse playing cards in Vinnie's office which was on the first floor which was filled with computers and devices and Beat got really angry.
-Beat: Your pair of idiots! Stop playing! I have your help! Both of you! I have a ring and I need a report of the corpse that needs to be checked. I want to confirm the owner of the ring and who crafts these types of rings! And with that I can find Hendricis and his new try to kill all monsters.
-Vinnie: So this involves Hendricks. This is bad. I'll start working on this!
-Alphonse: Finally some work!
Vinnie grabs the ring and gets up to start working and Alphonse grabs his phone and starts calling some people. Beat goes to where Erina is.
-Beat: Erina, stay here and keep investigating. I'll go to talk with someone that may know something of Hendricks.
-Erina: Why? Why are you so eager to go after him?
-Beat: This is a long story... But I saw what he did and saved a girl involved in this. She became an official dead and in the underground she became one of the best info dealers.
-Erina: And she knows of Hendricks. I guessed?
-Beat: She has many people in the church, and she works for us. Also this allows me to not have to go through official means of interrogation and also takes out the trouble of corporations. So in this situation is perfect to go to ask her.
-Erina: But?
-Beat: Ever since I saved her... She treats me like if I was her father. I want her to be happy but... I don't want to be a bad influence for her.
-Erina: You care about her. That is far better than some cases I know of.
-Beat: That's a relief... But... You know.
-Erina: You ended feeling responsible of her. (Smiles) That's great! Good luck!

Erina went to check the diary a second time in case that she overlooked it and Beat went outside of the HQ and used his cellphone.
-Beat: Lucy?
-Lucy: Hey Beat! How's the work going?
-Beat: A bit troubling. Hendricks is at it again.
-Lucy: And you want me to get where he is hiding.
-Beat: Only if its safe. I'll pay!
-Lucy: We are like family! How I could accept money from you!?
-Beat: (sighs) I don't want to be treated like that. And all the money you get, better you live. Am I right?
-Lucy: Okay... You really look after me a lot.
-Beat: You are important for me. In the end you are a 55% me, so you are the closest thing to a daughter that I have.
-Lucy: Come to Igor's bar. The frozen bear.
-Beat: Leisure district?
-Lucy: The Church does not allow its people to go to the leisure area. Also, Igor has a gatling and a lot of explosives. So if Hendricks tries to find me, Igor will send him to hell.
-Beat: He is not that easy to kill.
-Lucy: He has 57 years already. At that age, angel cells decay like nothing. His regenerative power will drop any day soon. And then... He is dead meat.
-Beat: Still angry about what he did to your parents?
-Lucy: Of course. I know that my mother accepted your DNA from Hendricks but my father was not involved...And he was killed either way. The only relative alive that I have its you and you are a good dad.
-Beat: Heh. You really are like her.
-Lucy: Who?
-Beat: Erina Hell. She's my companion now.
-Lucy: Wedding bells?
-Beat: (blushes) Not that fast! Not that fast!
-Lucy: (laughs) Then maybe you have a girlfriend?
-Beat: Not yet!
-Lucy: Come in two hours and we talk.
Lucy ended the talk and Beat started going to the leisure district.

Meanwhile, Hendricks was grabbing a small tube filled with blood that had a tag saying B-335.
-Hendricks: Your blood is my salvation. What an irony. A monster like you having such a gift. But next time we find... (smiles) I'll kill you a thousand times! And when I find that daughter of yours that you stole from me... I'm going to make her end what I started! May god give us his blessing!
Hendricks put the tube in a giant spheric machine and it had like a countdown.
-Hendricks: 24:01:00. A day to create a clone of that bastard that does not die. And recombinated with Hell's blood. I hope that this works. Purification must be done.
