Chapter 19: Government Warning

Erina's POV:
After the zombie incident caused by Cynthia, the government decided that the church was causing too much trouble and they sent a warning saying that if they didn't avoid such troubles, the government would have to decide in closing the church.
Still I'm really surprised that Bloodline didn't affect me. When Beat noticed that, he made sure that everyone thought that I had headache too. Why? By what he told me later, the government would use me as a test subject or worse only to find something to counter Bloodline.
Seems that Beat doesn't trust in the government, but my mother didn't have also the headache never... And she trust the government. I should ask her, but not today.
Why not today? Because now, the report of this case has to be done by Beat and me and give it to the government.
And it's longer than expected... So much details...

Erina and Beat finish the report and go to the city hall, which is in the administrative district that is the district that has all the political parties, the city hall, some research centers, the courts where people is judged for different crimes, even the headquarters of the police are there and also have all the high standing things for all the important people, like the best restaurants and the best shops. They directly go to the city hall that has 3 floors, a very modern style and is filled with offices that have always people working and they go to the third floors and go directly to the major's office.

The major's office was big, had only a big window from where he could see the entire city, a table with 3 seats around it, 1 in the major's side and 2 in the other side, a lot of bookshelves filled with law books and several important cases reports, many of those reports were made by Beat, and also had a painting that was a skeleton shaking hands with a human. Another peace treaty important thing that commemorated it.
But instead of the major, Beat and Erina found three old men in suits that seemed very angry with Beat.
They all seemed like brothers but they weren't, only they were similar physically thanks to their age. You could recognize them by the color of their eyes only. One had black eyes, other had brown eyes and the last one had golden eyes.
-Beat: (Sarcastic) Oh, the government came to see me! What a pleasure! Delaware, you keep having those golden artificial eyes!
-Delaware: Beat, today we are angry with you. You put Ms Hell into a big trouble and you made her look like she was affected by Bloodline.
-Beat: So you know that already...
Beat's hand started to go after his gun.
-Delaware: No need to shoot us down, Beat. We won't do nothing to Hell's family. Never.
-Erina: Now you got me lost.
-Beat: Francis! Explain this crap, you brown eyed bastard!
-Francis: You really don't have respect at all for your elders... Ms Hell is my... granddaughter
-Beat: You are kidding me... You are kidding me!
-Delaware: Why you think that?

Erina was shocked at the explanation of Francis but then anger took the best of Erina and grabbed her gun and aimed at the head of Francis.
-Erina: It can't be. I don't know you at all!
-Beat: I know what she's thinking. And believe me, you don't want to try to...
Francis grabbed a recorder and played it, the signal of bloodline was recorded there. Everyone unless Erina and Francis went to the floor because of the headache.
-Francis: That's the proof. Erina, the Hell family have something in our genes that makes our brains immune to Bloodline. The signal of Bloodline can't be processed by our brains.
-Erina: Why you didn't say it? To the other people.
-Francis: Because is our secret. If the monsters knew, they would grab our DNA to find what makes us immune to be safe of Bloodline.
-Beat: So... that's why... you are angry with me? As always... you are a bastard.
-Francis: Thinking while being affected by Bloodline shouldn't be easy.
-Beat: Easier... than having to hear your warning.
-Francis: So you want my warning. Well, let me take out the signal.
Francis stopped the recorder.
-Francis: Bell, tell him our warning. It's better that you do that. Those black eyes of yours are more intimidating than my eyes.
-Bell: Okay...(grabs Beat) Dare to cause so much ruckus again and I'll kill you. A lot of times, each time worse than the previous one!

Beat frees himself from Bell's grip and breaks both of his arms. Erina looked scared and hoped that no trouble would happen.
-Dellaware: We need you Beat. But... I cannot let this one pass.

-Francis: Forget him this time, Dellaware. If we try something, the monsters will learn my secret.
-Dellaware: Okay. We leave but next time I'm going to kill you.
The three old men leave and Beat sighs.
