Beat and Erina went to the leisure district and started looking for demons. Usually they hide in corners because after Francis achieved the government he managed to put all the monsters under a legislation that made all the monsters follow certain rules for every race but the demons were the worst treated being sent or to the worst street or outside the town. And that made them suffer when they had to search for work, and in the long term that made them become drug dealers and became a trouble for the city.
Beat found a demon. He was a tall man with red skin, two red horns, black eyes, black hair and had a lot of scars in the face. He was wearing a brown hoodie that looked old because it was a bit torn in some places, black jeans that also were torn and black sneakers. He looked scared at Beat.
-Beat: Are you scared of me? Don't worry, I want to ask you something.
-Demon: What?
-Beat: The drugs that are sending monsters to the hospital. Who is making them?
-Demon: Why I should tell to a lapdog of the government who made us be afraid of the government itself?
-Beat: Good thing that I ain't a lapdog of the government. I only want to stop the drugs to protect the monsters.
-Demon: How can I be sure of that!?
-Beat: I know there's no way I can convince you this is not one of their tricks, but I don't care. I am Beat Graves, a monster hunter.
The demon looked at Beat not believing his words but later on he knew that if Beat was with the government he would have captured him. And then he started to believe what Beat was saying.
-Demon: You saved our reputation some time ago. Do you remember the case of Chase?
-Beat: Of course. He was my friend and he walked a path with no return.
-Demon: At first, the people blamed us. But thanks to you, some of us have legit work. Even if the government tries to scare us and take us out of this city, we won't lose hope!
-Beat: I always said one thing. The people should not be afraid of the government. It should be totally the opposite. The government needs people to build their city, but the people with a snap of thinking could send the government to hell and they would still be alive.
-Demon: There is a warehouse in the south of the leisure district. Search in there. Maybe you find something. I must leave now or I'll be late to my job.
-Beat: Then good luck and keep your ideas alive. They are bulletproof and that was shown several times already.
Beat left the corner and searched for Erina who went to talk to another demon and saw from afar.Beat saw how Erina tried to ask demons but they quickly ran away when they saw her but she kept trying until she managed to talk with a demon and after five minutes talking she left and went to talk with Beat.
-Beat: Any lead?
-Erina: I know how the drug is called. It is called the Freezing Powder. It freezes the brain and allows the user to think clearly even if he or she is drunk but after that they become like zombies. Unable to think.
-Beat: Maybe I know where it is done. There's a warehouse in the south part of the district. We can check it.
-Erina: Good idea!
Erina and Beat started walking to the warehouse. When they arrive to the warehouse they can see how it is. It is a big warehouse with 3 floors, but seems abandoned with all the windows broken, the door is unlocked and the entire warehouse is really in ruins.
Erina looked surprised to see a warehouse in that condition but Beat just sighed.
-Beat: Maybe we find the drugs. Or maybe we don't.
-Erina: Seems that your lead was cold.
-Beat: Never judge a book by its cover, Erina. Even the smallest ruin may have a treasure behind.
-Erina: Let's see about that.
-Beat: Yeah.
Beat and Erina entered into the warehouse. What will happen in the warehouse? Stay tuned and you will know!
