A small kid was running across a deep forest in the middle of the night. He tried to escape of something but there was no one behind him. He tripped near of the exit of the forest and then a shot was heard, the boy was dead by a shot in the head. A tall man with a hood was 0.8km far away of the corpse but could see the kid even in the night, he smiled and left.
The next day, in White Hope, Beat was talking with Vinnie to investigate several bloodbaths that occured in three days before Francis entered in the government. They all seemed connected with Francis, but Francis did not have a connection with any of the clans eliminated. At least, none that Beat knew. But Vinnie told Beat something that interested him.
-Vinnie: Lately several monsters have been hunted down. All the same way. It may be a serial killer. How much you think that the police will wait to ask you about that?
-Beat: Maybe when there are 5 corpses.
-Vinnie: Well, let's hope that you don't have to be called. It could be a human killing monsters?
-Beat: It could. Humans lost many things in the last war. Some of them may want payback.
-Vinnie: I hope that the police catch that killer quickly! But talking of happier things... What happened between Erina and you?
-Beat: Nothing that involves you.
-Vinnie: It involves you and it can affect my job.
-Beat: I just said what I had to say.
-Vinnie: Huh... You'll make me have to ask Erina?
-Beat: Try to get more info from her. Maybe you get something.
-Vinnie: Okay.
Beat leaves but is stopped by Sylvia.
-Beat: What happened?
-Sylvia: New case for you and Erina. This one is a big case that needs you two working together. I cannot trust someone else. Remember the news about a serial killer?
-Beat: How many monsters are dead? 5?
-Sylvia: How did you know that!?
-Beat: As expected they wait too much. I'll go to the scene of the murder. Tell Erina to meet me there.
-Sylvia: She's there already. And is happy to work with you more than usually. What did you two do in that date?
-Beat: (sighs) I'll regret this. We kissed. An accident.
-Sylvia: And what a good result! You two really seem a couple. Tell me: Are you happy with that?
-Beat: Yes. I'm happy. (Smiles) A life without her is an agony.
-Sylvia: Heh. Well, keep trying. She starts to seem interested in you!
Beat blushed and left White Hope HQ.Beat arrived to the murder scene and saw Erina surrounded by journalists trying to get information out of her and making her uncomfortable.
Beat grabbed the shoulder of a journalist and looked really angry.
-Beat: Can you all leave? You are in my investigation area and if you mess up and make us lose evidence because of your questions, I'll send you to jail.
The journalists left running.
-Erina: Thanks, Beat.
-Beat: No problem, Erina. Let's try to work and find the truth behind these cases!
-Erina: Okay.
Beat checked the area and found the corpse. A corpse of a kid of 13 years, seemed like he was sent to the forest and that the boy was a werewolf. Blonde hair, blue eyes, several scars in the torso. He seemed to have fought against several werewolves already. Blonde haired and blue eyed werewolves were discriminated because they had a more diluted werewolf blood and that made them more unstable when they were transformed. Those werewolves were discriminated by the other werewolves but the humans feared them more than the other werewolves. But someone that wanted to kill monsters maybe did not think about that a lot.
-Beat: Let's see the wound.
Beat saw the wound in the head of the boy. A clean shot in the head, there wasn't a burn mark so it was shot from a long distance. The bullet passed through the head of the boy, so it had been done with a weapon like a rifle because a gun like a pistol would have the bullet in the head or have left a burn mark.
-Beat: It can't be right? Not a soldier from the last war?
Beat seemed afraid.I hope that you like this chapter!
