Beat was checking the boy corpse and he found a clean shot in the head but not a single mark of a burn so it was done from a really far place. Even a shot made with a handgun leaves some marks, but this was something even more disturbing. Only it could be caused by a rifle, a sniper rifle to be exact and even so that would be hard for an amateur.
So Beat was fearing than an old member of the army decided to get payback against monsters, and the worse it was that he did not leave any proof to work with, no message, no bullet, nothing. So the serial killer was only killing because he was addicted to killing monsters.

Still Beat knew that all victims should have something that related them and the killer. It would be strange that someone who worked so hard to kill in the same way five times already to not leave a challenge for the monster hunters and the police. Later, using a sniper rifle to kill? Usually going closer makes the adrenaline rush more strong, so this serial killer was different from the usual. Then there should be a reason behind the serial killer actions.
But the worst of this case was that with a serial killer you have small time to find him, because some are truly addicted to killing and they kill so much that you can follow them and some are totally the opposite and kill several times and then they can wait during years. And this serial killer seemed of the second kind of serial killers.

Beat kept looking around the area to search for clues but he did not find none unless a ring of iron with a crux. It could be something important so he took it and looked at it. Seemed that it wasn't important but Beat had a feeling that he had seen another of these rings but he couldn't remember where. Maybe that ring was the clue that he needed.
-Beat: “Let's check who owned this ring with a little of trick with dust. This dust can grab the fingertips of werewolf quite quickly because it is silver dust! The fingertips show a change of colour if they are of a werewolf."
Beat took out from his pocket a small powder and a brush. In the powder there was silver dust and Beat used it to see if there was werewolf fingertips on the ring and he found several fingertips that turned red and that made sure one thing: The ring was touched by a werewolf.

Beat finally had a clue and he wanted to investigate it as fast as possible but he searched in the werewolf body again to see if he had forgotten something. And then he found a notebook that he could not understand because it was written in an odd language that Beat did not know.
-Beat: What the hell is this?
Erina went to see what Beat had found and tried to read it. She could read it, because she knew russian.
-Erina: Oh, a diary! Surely of the werewolf boy. I can read it.
-Beat: So we both have work to do. I don't think that there's nothing else here! The killer cleaned up the place.
-Erina: Okay. So what do we do?
-Beat: Back to White Hope HQ, search something that could help us in that diary and find out what this ring is.
-Erina: And then?
-Beat: Search any relation that the victims had. Maybe with the diary and the ring we find something.
-Erina: Okay! Seems a good plan for a start!
Erina and Beat went back to White Hope HQ. Beat went to ask to Vinnie if he could find what the ring was and Erina went to a quiet room with a pair of dictionaries to do a translation of the diary.
