Chapter 52: Big Papa

After two hours, Vinnie came back to White Hope HQ and started working on getting information on Big Papa and what he found was surprising.
That gangster started as a thug that stole money but after managing to steal a bank alone he started getting people, and started forming a mafia. After two long years of work, Big Papa was one of the leaders of the underground and was fighting with the Yakuza. While the Yakuza went with drugs and things like that, Big Papa did everything he could do: From stealing small shops to making drugs and he did everything between those two.

Big Papa's Mafia was known for its special way to take care of traitors. Big Papa sent usually people with a lot of guns to kill the traitor and right after killing him, the ones sent to kill the traitor made sure that everyone knew that the one who betrayed them had no honor. If it was a werewolf, they would take their head. If it was a skeleton, they turned all his/her bones to dust, with demons, he pierced his/her heart, brain, and legs. Always following the culture of the traitor, Big Papa made sure that everyone knew that they had no honor.
And after all his hard work, Big Papa has a lot of members of the police on his side so if his people mess up, the police will just cover it up.

Vinnie knew that catching Big Papa would be impossible but he had to avenge his friends and find Dan, after all they were like family for him. After 10 years working with them, Vinnie knew all of their dreams.
Beat went to ask him if Vinnie knew more about Big Papa.
-Beat: Vinnie, any new info?
-Vinnie: I have a bit of information but it won't be enough. I don't know where he is.
-Beat: No need to find him now. Find someone close to him. I'll go ask those who are close to him.
-Vinnie: They won't talk.
-Beat: Give me a pair of hours and they will be singing his location like if they were singers.
-Vinnie: It is my trouble and my fault.
-Beat: You are a member of White Hope. If someone attacks one of us, we all will hunt the attacker down. Be sure of that.
-Vinnie: You are risking a lot.
-Beat: And? I won't do anything that I'll regret. And not helping you is one of them. I'll find him and close this case. No matter what happens. And remember that I can't die.
-Vinnie: Having that power is truly a blessing.
-Beat: More of a curse. But well I use it well.
-Vinnie: Maybe Erina has something.
-Beat: Okay. I'll come back later.
Beat left and Vinnie kept searching information from every source he knew of.

Beat went to see Erina. Erina was checking the results of the DNA tests and looked pale.
-Beat: What happens, Erina?
-Erina: Oh, Beat! See this test!
Erina handed to Beat a DNA test and looked it up. It was the woman's test. That demon girl that die was the daughter of a demon called Dan Remille, a gang leader.
-Beat: Damn it all. We did not know that.
-Erina: She... She was...
-Beat: Don't tell me that she was expecting a child...
-Erina: From Vinnie.
Beat became angry, really angry.
-Beat: This is war, Erina. A bloody war! I am going to send that bastard to hell!
-Erina: Capturing him is a must. Don't let your anger get the best of you know. Killing people will just breed hatred. Only kill when needed.
-Beat: We must stop that bastard.
-Erina: In that I agree.
-Beat: Vinnie knows this?
-Erina: Not from me. And I don't know him enough to say that no one told him.
-Beat: If I were him, I would chase the culprit until I killed that bastard.
-Erina: I am sure of that. But how we tell him?
-Beat: This breaks way too many rules...
-Erina: Oh, the scandal that we will have on hands...
-Beat: I will be the one slapped for this. “Damn it, Vinnie. You should have made sure that she became legal before having a relationship!"
-Erina: Well, the worst will be for him.
-Beat: Yeah... Losing family always hurts.
Beat went to see Alphonse but then he saw Vinnie looking at him with a pale face.

Vinnie seemed trying to process all.
-Vinnie: So, she was...?
-Beat: Yes. I am deeply sorry.
Vinnie started laughing and crying at the same time
-Vinnie: We only did it once... Out of a fight we had. And I find out this now. After she's dead. Vivi died and she did not even tell me that. I AM GOING TO KILL THAT BASTARD OF BIG PAPA! WITH MY OWN HANDS!
-Beat: You can't. You shouldn't go after him. You can die!
-Vinnie: AND!? I would rather die before not getting revenge! I'll find that bastard!
Vinnie went back to the computer and started working even with more will than before.
