As Percy and Annabeth fell into Tartarus, they talked about the life they could possibly have after defeating Gaia.
"IF we defeat her." Annabeth said, her voice full of worry and fear. "Hey, don't say that. We will defeat Gaia. And if we go down, we go down together. No matter what we will never get seperated, never again. I promised, remember?" Percy's tone comforted her and she felt like crying. She didn't know what to do without her Seaweed Brain.
Annabeth couldn't see his face in the dark but she was sure he was smiling a little. She smiled and nodded her head.
"Thank you Percy. I love you."
"I love you too, Annabeth."
As he said that, Percy pulled her in closer, just a little bit and they knew by the warmth of each other's bodies that there was still hope for them and everything. But at that time nothing else seemed important. They had each other. And that was all that mattered.
