A few months back, a demigod son of Athena was claimed. His name was Anthony. He was a very quiet and timid child, and often needed guidance for many things. Annabeth developed a really soft spot for him and would 'take him under her wing'. As a big sister and head counsellor, she felt that she need to always be with him. However, when she wasn't, she was obviously seen with Percy. Anthony observed this quietly and noticed how happy Percy made Annabeth. Since he loved her and always wanted to see her happy, he decided that he'd give Percy a little something. Also for the sake of him showing his gratitude to Percy for leading the camp.
Percy was at the top of Half-Blood Hill, ready to take off on his sled (always a kid at heart), when someone tapped his shoulder. He was surprised to see that tiny 7-year-old Anthony was there. After all, the kid was barely seen anywhere outside his cabin unless with Annabeth.
"P-Percy?" he said quietly.
"Yes? What's up, little man?"
"I have something to give you..."
Anthony pulled out a slightly deformed paper snowflake, which, albeit its appearance, seemed to look like a lot of thought was put into it. Tiny bits of pieces of paper stuck out at random places. However messed up it seemed to be, it was more intricate than any arts and crafts project Percy ever did when he was 7. He was touched.
"It... it's a snowflake. For your Christmas present. I just wanted to thank you for making my sister so happy and being a nice camp leader. Like this snowflake, you're unique and special and you make people hopeful and happy. I... I hope you like it. I really want you and Annabeth to be together for a long time." Anthony said hopefully, eyes looking bigger behind his glasses.
"Of course I do! It's amazing, thank you!" Okay, saying Percy was touched was an understatement. He feeled. He felt. He was boarding the next plane to Feeladelphia.
"Really?" Anthony broke into the biggest smile ever.
Percy looked into the little boy's eyes. "Really. I love it. I'll never let Annabeth go." [HoH. Tartarus. Fall. Sorry. Bye.]
"Thank you so much!"
"My pleasure, kid. Say, wanna join me down this slope? Pretty lonely here all by myself."
"I can? Really? You'll let me?"
"Of course! Hop on."
And so, the potential brothers-in-laws sled down the hill together, laughing merrily. At one point, Annabeth did ask about them both. And when she saw them sledding together, she couldn't be happier. Two important people in her life, both bonding with each other and having fun. That was the best Christmas present she could ever ask for.
