Percy was walking Annabeth home from school one day in the mortal world and he had his arm around her. As they walked, they laughed and hugged each other tightly. A few minutes into their walk, a few boys in a truck slowed down and wolf-whistled at Annabeth.

"Just ignore them, Percy. They're nothing." she huffed. But Percy couldn't control it. He despised anyone who hit on his girl, even males who gave her friendly smiles.

"Stay away from my girlfriend, jerks! You do anything to her and you're all dead meat. Got it?" he growled. Annabeth was amazingly surprised. She didn't ever see Percy this angry, just for her sake. Sure, he always was protective of her but not to the point of threatening anyone unless they were monsters. "And you come and lay one finger on her, you are all gonna end up like a piece of-" "That's enough Percy." After the boys drove away after that little incident, Annabeth saw Percy grumbling and kicking stones in the pavement.

"Percy, they're gone. You don't have to worry about them anymore. And what you did there? It was amazing. In fact, I'm the luckiest girl ever to have you by my side." By then she was clutching Percy's arm while resting her head on it, grinning broadly. Percy looked over and smiled.

"Yeah I guess. But I can't stand it when people do that it makes me feel... overprotective and possesive. But I definitely know I have the best and smartest girlfriend in the world. And we would never break apart, no matter what. I love you Annabeth." Annabeth stared into Percy's eyes.

"I love you too, Seaweed Brain." She pulled him into a kiss and at that moment she realised all that she had said were coming straight from her heart. The part where without Percy, wouldn't be complete.
