A few weeks after she willed Gaia back to sleep, Piper finally understood what her mom had said to her. That she had to be there to put an end to this. She needed to side with storm and fire, Jason and Leo, to stop the war. In that moment when she realized it, she finally had some self appreciation. Before this, even after defeating so many enemies, gods and goddesses included, she never felt like she could be that hero. Sure, she had her moments of victory with the others. Victories that she knew couldn't have been achieved without her, but it never lasted because the real, final battle was with dirt face herself, not with her pawns. She wasn't sure she would even be much help.
But without her charmspeak, Gaia would have never fallen back asleep. She didn't think much of it, only that it was all over. She never realized what a big role she played until one random day, when she was alone with Jason, he suddenly said to her, "We couldn't have done it without you Pipes." She realized that he was talking about her part in the whole war. She finally realized just how much she loved her life, and it was nice to know she pitched in to help save it. Of course, she couldn't have done it alone. If she was ever arrogant or proud, which she doubted she ever would be, she would keep it to herself because it was a teamwork defeat.
She was glad to be alive. And she was glad that the people she loved were too. And Leo... she believed he was alive. She had to believe he was alive. That was all that had to be on her mind.
Life is precious.
Believe to live.

I know, Piper already had a bit of self appreciation, but I just wanted to show how lucky she felt. And also, Piper is an awesome and amazing person. I love her! She's just great, and you can't say otherwise because whatever it is, she's NOT useless. Also, this chapter is confusing. Like really confusing. I don't really understand what's in there but...
