Twenty Four

Courtney's P.O.V (Same time as last chapter)

I grinned as Baekhyun ran towards the woods pulling Samantha along behind him. I think I had a pretty good idea of what he was about to do. 'Get it girl' I said to myself, proud of her for finally finding a man. I frowned when I turned back around to realize that Taeil had pulled up a chair next to me and was now glaring at me. "What do you want?" I said as I looked at him, now annoyed at the situation. "Nothing" he said as he went to turn away but not before throwing a cup of water at me. "Hyung, what the hell?!" WinWin yelled as he jumped up and started to lunge at Taeil.

"WinWin stop!" I yelled as I grabbed his arm, trying to stop a fight while Amber was practically begging for a fight. I looked over and noticed that she was cheering them on while holding a bag of popcorn. I rolled my eyes as I got up and grabbed a towel to dry myself off. D.O walked over towards me as a concerned look started to form on his face. "You okay?" he said as he walked closer to me. "I am okay" I said as I went to grab my necklace. I felt safer and less panicked whenever I had it, it was the last thing I had to remember my father by. I had no idea why it helped me in certain situations, why it calmed me down.

Then I remembered that apparently the necklace held some special power. At least, that is what my dad had said, though he never specified how it worked or what the power even was. As I thought about these things, I felt for the necklace only to realize that it wasn't there. I instantly started to have a panic attack, not knowing what else to do in that moment. "What is wrong?" D.O said as I looked over to see WinWin running over and Yuta glaring at me from the distance. I looked back at the ground before I fell and continued to have my little panic attack. "My necklace... it.. it's gone" I said as they both tried to calm me down, never once taking their glares away from each other.

"What ne..." D.O started to ask before WinWin interrupted him. "The one that your dad gave you?" he questioned, obviously knowing the answer already. I nodded as I started to get up. They both tried to help me up but I shook it off, signaling that I didn't need any help. "Kyungsoo!" Suho yelled as he gestured for D.O to follow him. D.O looked to me quickly before saying anything. "You will be okay right?" he said lightly. I nodded before he ran towards Suho, glaring one last time at WinWin. I decided that it would be best if I tried to ignore WinWin for the moment, I was too worried to even speak.

I walked quickly towards the river and started to search for the necklace. Soon after, I looked over to see WinWin walking towards where I was searching. He looked really angry and determined about something so I panicked and randomly decided to run away from him. To my dismay, the best place I could run to was into the woods. "Courtney!" I heard him calling after me as leaves began to rustle loudly behind me. I ran faster but could still hear the leaves rustling louder and louder, indicating that he was catching up with me. I had forgotten that WinWin could somehow run at superhuman speed. Once I thought about it I slowed down and hid behind the closest tree, hoping that he would run by.

I peeked around the tree quickly as the woods grew quiet, though I struggled to see since it was so dark. It became oddly quiet as there was no longer any noise coming from behind me. I knew for a fact that WinWin had followed me into the woods but I guessed that maybe I had lost him some how. I looked around again to make sure before turning back around to head back to the river. I took a deep breath as quietly as I could as I stepped forward not looking where I was going. That was until I slammed into something in front of me, knocking me down. I winced in pain as the figure standing ahead of me leaned down towards me. I struggled to see who it was at first as they reached their hand out to help me up.

I accepted it and got up quickly as I tried to figure out who was standing in front of me. Suddenly they walked closer to me and began to speak quietly. "Courtney, you okay?" the voice, who I instantly realized belonged to WinWin, spoke. "Yes" I said as I nodded, now noticing that I was still holding his hand. I blushed and tried to look away as he continued to look at me, not letting go of my hand. "What is it?" he said shyly as he grabbed my shoulder. I turned back to him, still trying to get my blush to go away.
