I slowly open eyes, I sit up and look around.
"Grass?" I look over. "Sans!" I yell jumping on him.
"yous awake pup, ya worried me for a second." He says turning toward me and rubbing my head. "come on, let's head home kay. i'm sure paps is worried."
"Right." I say smiling at him. "I'm sorry Sans." He pulls me in closer and consoles me.
"it's not ya fault pup." He says rubbing my head. We head home and I find the human child awake upon my arrival.
"Hey kiddo." I say and they just look at me. I kneel down and rub the kid's head then they suddenly run into my arms. "Kid?"
"looks like they like ya." Sans says.
"I can't raise them though. I was basically raised by wolves." I say.
"wasn't that only in the summer?" Sans questions and I sigh.
"It was kind of a year round thing for me. I don't know why I love wolves so much, I just do." I explain.
"well, what does that hafta do with this kid?" He asks me.
"I can't teach them all the human things they should know." I say.
"ya don't hafta, teach'em what's necessary." He says and my eyes widen. "after all, the kid's livin with a couple of skeletons.
"I guess you're right." I chuckle.
"i mean come on pup, the kids here with monsters, i'm sure a four-legged friendly fuzball like yaself wouldn't be much difference." He says.
"Alright Sans. You win, cut it out." I say rolling my eyes.
"what are ya goin to do about it?" He taunts me.
"You are so boned." I say jumping on top of Sans and tugging at his bones with my teeth.
"Sans! Pup! Stop playing in the house before you break something." Papyrus yells, but it was already too late. We had knocked over the desk against the wall.
"Sorry Pap." I say rubbing my neck still sitting on the floor. I feel something under me and I see the kid. "Oh, hey kid." I see a big smile on their face.
"The kid really likes you." Pap says.
"well of course, she's a pup. who doesn't love a pup." Sans says shrugging. I get up to leave and the kid follows me.
"I'm gonna go to bed now, why don't you stay with Sans." I say and the kid looks over and runs over to him.
"hey kiddo." He says picking them up and swinging them in the air. "wanna play with lil ole sansy."
I make my way upstairs and lie down in Sans' bed. I have to tell them one day, I'll be leaving, heading home. The thought actually kind of saddens me. Over the next week or so, the kid, Sans, Papyrus, and I all hung out a lot. We always had plans to do stuff whenever no one had to stay late and even when they did, I was with them. We went on a few jobs here and there and those were always fun. Sans and I hung out by ourselves sometimes and other times it would be me and Papyrus. They took me for walks and we played in the park, which was normally just me and the kid. We got a few weird stares here and there, but for the most part, it was fun. Then the time came, I had to leave, it was time. I could tell the seasons were changing.
"heya pup, what's the matter? ya been lookin kinda down lately." Sans says petting my head.
"I'm fine. It's just, the seasons are changing in my world and that means I'll have to leave." I reply.
"pup....... I knew this day would come. y'know the kid's gonna be devastated." He says, his voice sounded as though he was alright but his aura gave a different feel. A feeling of sadness.
"I already know, I can't really do anything about it though. I'll have to leave in a day or two." I reply looking up at him. The kid bursts in the room startling me and I immediately change the mood, dropping into playful mode.
"Pup! Pup!" The kid said with a smile on their face.
"You want a piece of me kid?" I say tickling them.
"Sans! Help! Pup!" The kid says laughing. I loved seeing the smile on their face. It made me happy.
"here i come kid." He says picking me up by my sides and lifting me into the air.
"Put me down Sans." I say wiggling around.
"quick go hide." Sans says and the kid runs out of the room. "ya know, the kid's not gonna like this." He sighs.
"I know. Look, I'm just gonna go now." I say getting up to leave. "Tell them I'll be back later."
"pup." Sans says. I could feel my heart breaking with each step I took down the stairs and out the door. I walk to the place I had fallen from. I walked toward the wall the hole in the wall and looked up. I could see the light shining on the rocks and then I start having second thoughts about leaving, but I know I must go.
"Kid, Papyrus, Sans. I'm sorry, but I have to go. I don't want to, but I promise, I'll be back." I say leaving out the door and making my way where I first fell. I stare at for a second deciding if I should actually go.
"don't forget this pup." I turn around and see Sans standing there with my cloak. I forgot I had that with me this whole time. I run into Sans' arms and he gives me hug.
"Thank you, Sans." I say grabbing my cloak and then I turn to leave.
"i think that ya forgot somethin else." Sans says and I stop and look at him confused.
"What?" I question.
"this." He says kissing me. My heart started racing and my face flushed red. I didn't pull away though, I pushed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. I wished this would last forever, but it came to an end sooner than I thought it would.
"Bye, Sans." I say smiling at him and climbing up the cliff side of the inside of the mountain. I look up and I can see the top where the sunlight is shining. It's still daytime. I put my cloak on and begin climbing the rocky terrain arriving at the top sooner than I expected to. I let out a howl and ran toward the house, Chiller, Reaper, I'm back.
