Chapter: 34

I shower and go back downstairs to watch TV. I turn on the newest episode that I recorded yesterday. This time Stacey and her ex were out on the town after the whole mess on the campus.

'Look, I didn't mean to cause a scene Stacey.'

'You're kidding. You know how our families are and on top of that you threatened my boyfriend. I cannot forgive you for that.'

'Stacey please. Forgive me.'

'In the mafia world, it's kill or be killed.'

She pulls a gun on him and pulls the trigger. He moves enough for it to hit him in the arm and he takes off running the other direction.

'You can run for as long as time goes on, but you will not get away, Mason.'

She puts the gun away and makes her way home. She finds her current boyfriend in the house. She explains to him and her parents what happened and now there's a hit out on him and a big reward. I look outside the window from the couch and see the sun rising, lighting the sky beautifully with a soft yellow fading into a blue mixed with a deep purple.

"I need a photographer." I say aloud.

"ya sure do." Sans says walking up beside me. "i'm sorry bout last night."

"I'm the one that should be sorry, you were just trying to protect me. I shouldn't have gotten upset." I say.

"it was cuz i wasn't treating ya like the boss ya are. I know ya can take care of ya'self, i know that, but that's my job." He says giving me a warm smile and it falls silent.

"His name is Jackie." I say and Sans looks up at me. "I used to go to school with him and I just found him a couple weeks ago, he graduated with a degree in Computer Science which is beneficial to us." I explain. "I didn't want to bring him in and he gets overpowered because he can't defend himself."

"i didn't ask for that information. i knew ya weren't cheatin. i jus didn't want ya to get hurt." He replies.

"Liar." I say and starts giggling.

"i guess i'm a terrible liar." He replies. "what gave it away?"

"What you said last night and how defensive you got when I didn't deny being at a hotel with another guy. While he does have a crush on me, I told him I was not on the market." I explain to him. "So don't worry, I'm all yours."

"sorry for actin like a kid. i'm jus not used to sharin ya with other guys." He says lying down on the couch.

"No, it's fine. It's one of the ways I can tell that you worry. I'm glad to know that you do." I reply lying down on top of him.

"so this computer science guy, can i meet em?" He asks.

"Sure. Is everyone leaving again today?" I ask.

"yeah, we're almost finished. should take another day or so." He replies. "i had planned on stayin home today."

"Alright. Well then, you can see him once everyone is gone." I reply. I hear doors open and footsteps.

"Morning you two." Gaster says walking down the steps. "Come on Papyrus."

"On my way." He says walking out of his room and out the front door. Michael makes his way out of his room and follows behind them.

"Wow, you guys are seriously putting in work." I say.

"only for the boss." Sans says rubbing my head. We wait about thirty minutes and then I call Jackie.

'Ray, is it time for me to make my way over there?'

"Yeah. They left."

'Alright.'

I hang up the phone and Sans goes in the kitchen to make breakfast. I fix the living room and clear the table off. About 10 to 15 minutes later I hear a knock on the door.

"It's Jackie." He says.

"The door's unlocked." I say and he walks inside and sits down right on the couch.

"You know you pulled a crazy stunt yesterday. Let's just hope it doesn't get me killed by this Sans person." He says taking a deep breath.

"Why would it get you killed and not me?" I ask.

"Because I'm a guy and you are his girlfriend. Do you know what happens to people who messes with a mafioso's girl?" He looks at me. "They end up dead, dead Ray. I kind of want to live through this if you don't mind." He adds and I start giggling.

"Alright." I say.

"This is serious. You sneaking me into your house without their knowledge, that could get me killed. I haven't exactly been introduced to anyone." He says and I start laughing.

"y'know if ya wanna join a mafia, ya don't call her ray, ya call her boss." Sans says walking over with two plates. Jackie looks as though he's seen the reaper himself.

"Is this........"

"This is Sans, Jackie." I say. "He's harmless...... when he wants to be." I add.

"IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU SIR, MR. SANS!" He yells at the top of his lungs. Sans and burst out in laughter.

"love the enthusiasm, but calm down, jus call me sans." He says calmly. "so, the alpha here has told me ya have a degree in computer science, that means ya good at hacking?"

"Yeah, I could with the right equipment. I can do a lot of things with that degree." He says nervously.

"y'know, she always had an eye for talent. do i need to make another phone call?" Sans asks me.

"Yeah, we need the most advanced technology." I reply and Sans leaves the room.

"consider it done pup." He says.

"Pup? Why does he call you pup?" He asks me.

"He's been calling me that since he first met me." I reply. "Now getting away from that subject, I need to discuss something with you. This will also help determine whether or not you're a good fit for the family. This isn't something you can study for and it's not something you can mentally prepare yourself for either."  I add.

"What is it?" He questions.

"Killing people and handling the sight of bodies." I say.
