Chapter: 37

I head up to my office last and see how well decorated it is with pictures of everyone, the little desk top decorations, my own little office phone, and the swirly chair. It had an awesome bookcase with a vase next to it and a plant by the window.

"Wow, you guys are a real family. I didn't think of it as like blood and stuff, but you guys are really family. You're always going to be there for them and they'll always come to your rescue when you need it." Jackie says looking out the window. "I wish I people that cared for me that much."

"You can get that here. You will find out soon enough, I promise you that. Now, if you want to been in on all the good missions with the main family, head down to LB's training class and make sure you pay attention." I say and he makes his out of my office and I make my way downstairs to the first floor.

"Hey Boss, how do you like the building?" Monster kid asks me.

"Hey there kiddo. I absolutely love the building, you guys did an amazing job and I thank all of you for that." I reply placing my hand on his shoulder.

"Where are you going right now?" He asks.

"To pick out a place to put the first establishment, wanna come?" I ask.

"Of course! Who would miss a chance to hang out with the boss herself." He says excitedly and I chuckle. I take my jacket off and  wrap it around my waist to hide my tail and I grab a fedora off of the rack and hide my ears. We leave out and begin walking the town for places to rent.

"So Boss, how did you become so strong?" He asks.

"I practiced a lot and I fought for what I cared about most, my family." I reply.

"Wow. That's just the answer I would expect from an awesome person like you." He replies.

"I'm not as awesome as you. You're way cooler." I say.

"There is no way I can surpass you. You are like the best of the best. You saved the entire town back when we were underground." He says. "I heard all the stories."

"But it wasn't just me. Sure I brought all of you guys back to life, but LB did a number on that guy that caused the whole mess." I say.

"How did you do it?!" He asks. "Can you show me?"

"Sure." I say making my eyes glow a bright yellow. "Some guys injected me something, but I don't know what. I can't do that often because it takes a lot out of me."

"Woah." He says. "Oh look! What about this one?" He runs up to a medium sized building and I take a look inside.

"Good eyes, this is perfect." I say walking inside. "We can set up a good deal of tables and there's space outside for tables too." I say making a call to the number on the window.

"Hello?"

Hello, you've reached Ebott Business Real Estate Agency. How may I help you?'

"Yes, I would like lease this building you have here on Hill and Hunt."

'I am actually in the area, I will be there shortly.'

"Okay. Thank you for coming on such short notice."

'No problem.'

I hang up the phone and lean against the wall. Monster kid starts exploring the two story building. About 10 minutes pass and a lady shows up.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. So, you want to lease it?" She asks.

"Well, lease is a limited. Can I buy it from you for full price?" I ask and she looks at me weird.

"Are you sure?" She asks. "It's quite a lot for someone your age."

"Well, I don't have money issues. I can have the money sent straight to your account with a phone call." I say.

"Well, these papers and the building is all yours." She says sliding a few things over my way. I sign my name on documents and she opens her laptop. "Now, we're talking about 750,000 dollars here."

"Okay." I say pulling out my phone and making the call to Jackie.

'Hello.'

"I need you to log into a computer and transfer 750,000 dollars to an account."

'Uh, sure. I'm heading to your office now.'

"Alright."

...

'I'm here.'

"Cool, you should be able to pull it up from the bookmarks."

'Okay. And............. got it. Woah, that's a lot of money. What's the routing number?'

"It is xxxxxxx54."

'Got it, it should be arriving soon.'

"Okay. Thanks." I hanging up the phone and her face lights up.

"You sure do deliver. The building is all yours. I must ask, how does someone as young as yourself have so much money?" She asks.

"Because she's awesome." Monster kid comes from upstairs. The lady shrieks and looks at me.

"What is that?" She asks.

"He's harmless. He's one of the sweetest monsters I know." I say smiling. "Please don't be rude."

"I'm sorry, I just never seen a monster. Please forgive me, he is quite adorable." She says holding her chest.

"Don't worry about it." I reply smiling as she walks out.

"What are you going to call it?" He asks me.

"Monster Café. We will begin construction......." I begin thinking.

"Let's start now." He says.

"We could, but we don't have any supplies." I say.

"We have a bunch of leftover supplies at the building. They're in the closet by the elevator." He says running out the door and I follow behind.

"Okay, okay." We run back to the building grab some supplies and head back to the little shop. I find a note taped to window.

'Hello New Owner,

I have been watching you for a while and I have to say, you have very peculiar friends. I think we should get know each other, otherwise they'll come up missing. Now, I know you work for someone powerful so, leave your boss out of it or else I'll start killing the monsters. Let's meet face to face soon.'

"What did it say?" Monster kid asks.

"It was a welcome note." I reply.
