Chapter: 42

I awake in a room and look around, Alpha's still out cold. I feel the dim light hitting my eyes sockets and two figures standing in front of me holding guns.

"You're finally awake, but your friend isn't. You know she's a tough one." A voice says walking towards us. "It's like our darts don't work on her, she kept waking up after 5 minutes so she should be up real soon."

"who are ya and what do ya want?" I ask.

"Honestly, I was going to use her for experiments, but she's so cute." He chuckles and my eye starts glowing.

"back off, she's mine." I say .

"Really? Are you sure she really wants you? Has she been doing things behind your back, has she been avoiding you lately, has she talked to you about any of the letters she's been getting?" He asks and I look at him strange.

"letters? what kinda letters?" I ask.

"The ones Marco has been sending her. Do you think we run into you on pure coincident? Have you noticed that all of the times you ran into him, she has not once attempted to kill him." He says.

"so what. she has her reasons, i'm not goin to doubt her based on some bullshit things ya tellin me." I reply.

"I know you're trying to deny it, but you know it's true and I'm sure it's not the first time she's hidden something from you. After all, she did spend the night in a hotel with someone you didn't know." He continues to fill my head with these thoughts.

"shut up! ya won't get what ya want out of me. i won't tell ya anything about her, nothin. so jus give it up already." I reply.

"You're so loyal, and to the wrong person. You know, we will treat you better than she has, after all, no one in this family...... keeps secrets." He says and at this point I start second guessing everything. "Well, I'll leave you to think about it." He adds as gets up to walk away and the two figures follow behind him. I sit there in silence for a while thinking about everything he said.

"Sans?" I hear Alpha's voice. "Sans, are you okay?"

"i'm fine." I say dryly, not wanting to talk to her.

"That's good. Look, this all my fault, if I hadn't lost it, we wouldn't be in this situation." She says.

"y'know this guy walked in here and started to fill my head with these doubts, but i refused to believe what he was sayin........." I reply. "tryin to."

"What?" Her voice sounds innocent.

"well, he told me ya been gettin letters from this marco guy we've been runnin into quite often, which he also says is your doin. so, do ya miind tellin me bout those letters?" I ask.

"The letters aren't important right now. We need to get out of here." She says breaking her rope off of her arms. She unties me, but I don't move. "Come on Sans, let's go."

"i find it kinda funny how ya jus try and brush over my question. i'm already second guessin myself and it seems ya jus provin his point with the secrets and what not." I say looking at her, my eye glowing blue. She reaches out to me, but I push her hand away.

"You know what, I'm not going to put up with this baby shit right now. I have too much going and now you're calling me a liar. Fine, I got letters from Marco, but they were more threatening than anything. They really want to get their hands on the monsters. They walked into the forest and shot darts at me, and LB came to help. I'm sorry I didn't tell I was going to be at a hotel with Jackie because I was being stalked by people in trucks, you were right Sans, I should have came home, but I was worried about Jackie. I didn't question you when that bartender was flirting with you. Yeah, I was a bit jealous, but I put it aside because I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt me and I would never do anything to lose your trust. Sans, I am a female, a female with wolf ears. I'm either glared at or mistaken for some kinky prostitute that guys just drool all over. It makes me uncomfortable but, I never say anything because I don't want to bother you with my petty little problems. I'm sorry I feel like I'm a burden if I come to you with problems so I pretend to be fine when I really want to tear my hair out. I put everyone before me, everyone. LB, Papyrus, Michael, dad, but you take the the cake, you definitely take the cake Sans. Is that what you wanted to hear?! Well there, you got what you wanted!" Her voice begins shaking and I can tell she's crying. "I'm sorry Sans. Okay, I'm sorry, but maybe I'm not fit to be boss. You'd be better at than me. And if that wasn't enough to satisfy you, even after all of this, I'd still kill for you Sans. After all, the alpha female is loyal only to her alpha male, if you even still are."

"alpha wa--" But she's already gone. I run to the door, but there are no signs of her anywhere. "dammit!" I say running through the halls looking for her, I shouldn't have done that, I knew she had her reasons so why did I accuse her of anything. It was probably for my own self-satisfaction, but I'm not satisfied at all. Hell, I'm the one who caused all this, I made her feel bad. I knew she was stressed, but I just pushed her to the breaking point. That guy knew what he was doing, purposely getting in my head so that he could do this. I should have known that's what he was doing, but I was blinded by my own desires. I'm such an idiot.

"Hey skeleton boy." A voice echoes through the halls. I look up and see an speaker on the walls. "If you're looking for the pretty little liar, she's long gone. She looked broken, upset, totally crushed. I didn't think you had it in you. Based on who she hangs around, I'm gonna guess that she only has one place to go to....heh...... well had. You know, Marco always mentioned how assertive she was when rejecting him on that offer. He even mentioned how threatening she was when he talked about going after the monsters and if I remember correctly he said, she had the look of someone who would not think twice about slaughtering anyone and that was just referring to monsters she hang s with. So, what are you going to do now? A single fella like you deserves only the best in life."

After hearing that, I completely lose my shit. I summon as many Gaster Blasters and begin blowing the place to up from the inside out. I blow a whole in the wall and leave out of my own exit. The building begins to shake and I teleport out of the place before it attracts too much attention. I stare at the door, afraid to go inside. The door swings open.

"Sans?" LB stands before me. "Where have you been? Where's Alpha?"

"she's gone and it's my fault." I say. "she ran off somewhere after this little argument we had........ well, it wasn't exactly little. what have i done?"

"The two of you have never gotten into an argument before, you guys just don't argue. This isn't like you or Alpha, not in the slightest. We need to find her." LB replies frantically.

"don't ya think i know that!" I yell before calming down again. "i'm sorry, i need ya to stay here and cover for me while i look for her. don't let a word of this get out, i don't want anyone else to know."

"Alright." LB nods and I walk off down the path. I let out a whistle and all the canines come out from hiding.

"time to go find a pup."
