Back home, I sat outside until the wolves came. Slowly, I could tell they were returning, their scent growing stronger. A few of them came to the house and stayed with me for the night.

'Thanks for coming to get us.'

"Hunter, I'm the Alpha. It's my job to protect the pack." I say rubbing his head.

'Even so, it's not the first time you and Sans saved us and you do so much for us wolves. Honestly, it was rather strange to have a human and skeleton be the Alpha, but you treated us like family.'

"Because you are family. I love everyone who lives out here with me. They have stuck by me through thick and thin. And I'm glad you are accepting Sans and I........ wait what?" I ask.

'You know there is a male and female Alpha in a pack of wolves. You and Sans are the Alphas of this pack, yo two are the ones who lead us.'

"hey pup! gaster brought mom back." Sans yells and I rush inside. She looked different, very different. Her eyes were like glowing beads and she seemed rejuvenated.

"Mom?" I ask and she turns toward me.

"Yes." She replies revealing sharp teeth. "What did you do Gaster?"

"She needed blood from a compatible donor that wouldn't completely tear her insides to shreds. So, I used your blood and it worked just fine, remember when I was trying to figure out what was going on with the injection and what not. Though she has a few of your aspects, but not quite on your level." He explains as he makes his way into the kitchen.

"I see. Are you alright with this mom?" I ask.

"Yeah, it's fine with me. Like I said before, the illness is gone, that's what was worrying me the most." She says looking around and suddenly something is triggered. She turns toward the window and look through it as if it was calling her. The moon lit up the night sky showing its blessing on her. She bathed in the glow of the moon creating an aura around her that was peaceful and calming. I could see something around her, like glowing dust, it was red, blood red. That color made me uneasy, like something bad would happen and I didn't want anything to happen to her.

"Mom, come on, let's go to bed." I say softly. She makes her way upstairs and shuts her door.

"pup, what's bothering ya?" Sans asks me.

"My mom. There's something off about her now. She feels like more of a threat now." I say staring up at her door.

"How so?" Jackie asks.

"I don't know. It just doesn't feel right. Maybe it's my imagination and I'm just over reacting to the sudden change." I try and comfort myself. "Where Michael? I haven't seen him in a while."

"Oh, he's on a mission." Gaster says. "Do not worry, I sent some of the best with him so he is not in any danger."

"Alright. Let's just, go to bed and forget this whole awkward situation." I say walking up the stairs and into my room. LB walks in behind me and shuts the door.

"You know what this means?" LB asks me.

"Yeah, I know. I know, but I don't want it to turn out that way." I reply taking a deep breath. I change out of my clothes and into my pjs.

"I hope we can find another solution to this problem before it gets worse. Otherwise, someone's gonna die." They say as they begin changing as well.

"Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. That's all I can think of right now. I'll give it 3 months at the most, then if she's starts losing control I'm going to have to stop it." I say lying down and staring at the ceiling. LB lays down beside me and we sit in silence before dozing off. In the morning I get an uneasy feeling and shoot up out of the bed. I look around, but no one is the room, only me. I take a deep breath and relax before standing up and grabbing some clothes. I take a quick shower and head downstairs where everyone was.

"Morning sleepy head." Michael says.

"Michael, you're back, I'm glad you're okay. Where have you been?" I ask walking over to him.

"Gaster had me and a few other guys raid a place for some supplies." He says as he eats his breakfast. "Better than having to pay for them."

"Yeah, as long as you're alright." I chuckle and make my way over to the table. "Why is everyone so silent?"

"Ray." Michael says softly. "It's one of the dogs, they.......... died." I take another deep breath.

"Well, they can't stick around forever." I say. "I know the others took it pretty hard. I'll go check on them." I add as I get up and leave the kitchen. I walk out of the house and run towards the woods, tears filling my eyes. I soon run into the pack, lying around the dead wolf. I get closer and see Knight lying lifeless in the dirt. "Guys, I'm sorry. It's all my fault, if I was with more this wouldn't have happened."

'Don't blame yourself, this was definitely not your fault.'

"I just can't believe he's gone. The pack is getting smaller and smaller." I say wiping my face, my body overwhelmed with despair. The wolves all come around to comfort me and after sobbing for about 10 minutes, I bury Knight near the oasis.

'We know you are also dealing with the mafia and you can't always be there. That's understandable, you are not only Alpha the Alpha, but Boss as well and others depend you besides us.'

"Still, I want to apologize for how I've been treating all of you. I'll make sure to watch out for you guys more in the near future. I'll need to get your tags micro-chipped so you can use it in the building." I say.

'Why?'

"I want you to be able to get to someone if one of you are hurt. I don't want you to have to bear burdens like Knight." I say lowering my head.

'Bearing burdens? What are you talking about?'

"Knight died because he was sick or something, right?" I ask.

'Sick? No. He was killed in cold blood. He had claw marks and bite marks on him.'
