Chapter: 49

Papyrus came back a couple of hours later with the trucks and a guest from the monster community.

"Hey! Miss Innkeeper, I haven't see you in a while." I say walking up the bunny.

"Haven't seen you in a while either hun, not since you became boss that is. How is everyone here?" She asks.

"They're fine. We got a few new recruits, Jackie isn't here and over there is Aurora." I say, Aurora looks up and that look on her face, I know that look. "Uh oh."

"Hi Aurora, my name is Brandy. I used to own an Inn, but now I'm mostly at home and helping with interior designs and what not." She explains.

"Really? That's interesting." Aurora replies. "You know, they're actually leaving tomorrow to go to some reunion and I don't have anywhere else to go. Do you think I could hang out with you?" She asks.

"Of course, sweetheart. I'm always available. Stop by anytime you want to and I should be there unless I'm out shopping." She says giggling. "Well, see you then."

"See you Miss Innkeeper." I say as she leaves out. "Really Aurora?" I look at her putting my hand on my hip.

"What?" She says looking around knowing what she did.

"I can't believe you like Miss Innkeeper. She is pretty though." I say laughing. "Anyways, Paps. What was she doing here?" I ask.

"She needed a lift home and she wanted to check on you three." He replies.

"Oh, if you need anything, let me know." Brandy says peeking back in.

"Do you need a lift back?" Papyrus asks.

"No, I'm fine. The wolves will see me home. They probably want something to eat from me anyway." She says walking out.

"Be careful." I say as she leaves out. "Thanks for picking up the trucks and tell the guys when you see them that I said thanks as well. You are the best." I say hugging him.

"No problem at all Alpha. What are we having for dinner tonight?" He asks.

"Why don't you surprise us Pap?" I reply giggling. "I'm going to go and check on dad at the building. I haven't seen him in a while."

"i'll come with." Sans says and we leave out the door. We teleport to the center of the building and access the elevator, taking it down to the basement. We find Gaster and mom both standing there staring at the screen of something I couldn't entirely make out. Mom is the first one to turn around and then Gaster follows.

"Alpha, it's good to see you again." My mother says and I cringe a little on the inside. "I've missed you sweety."

"I have hardly seen you or Gaster at all recently. Have you been keeping him company?" I ask.

"Sometimes, but she just likes to observe my work mostly. How have you been Alpha?" Gaster questions me.

"A little tired, but I'm overall good. I have to make sure everyone is safe and sound in our little district and check up on you to make sure you go home on time." I say giggling.

"I'll be fine. Honestly, you worry too much." He says.

"Well, I don't want to lose another family member." I say cutting my eyes at mother.

"hey mom, howsabout i take ya home. i'm sure paps misses ya and michael is back." He says.

"Oh really? That would be wonderful." She says walking over to Sans and they teleport out of the room.

"I'm going to slaughter her." I say and Gaster looks up at me.

"So you've noticed her behavior fluctuations too. She's been acting quite strange ever since I infused that blood in her. Do you have any idea what's going on?" He asks me.

"That's not my mother anymore, she didn't call me daughter, she called me Alpha. I thought she would be strong enough to fight it, but I guess not. Seeing as though I've been raised by wolves, it's normal that I can control it, but for her, it took over her body and now she wants to challenge me for the title of Alpha." I explain.

"So you weren't kidding about the going to slaughter her thing then." He says getting back to work.

"Unfortunately, I wasn't. I don't want to, but I can't afford to let anyone get hurt because of whatever that thing is. She's going to challenge me soon and I know it because there can't be two female Alphas in a pack." I say and Sans teleports back in.

"i told lb what jus happened and she's gonna keep an eye out for ya moms." He says and I nod my head.

"Thanks Sans." I say letting out a sigh. "There is so much going on right now and I just don't know what to do."

"howsabout we get ya an outfit for the reunion tomorrow?" He says.

"That sounds nice." I reply.

"A reunion. Should I accompany you as well?" Gaster asks.

"No dad, it's fine. I'll have Sans, LB, and Michael with me..... if he's not on another mission." I reply.

"Alright, but if you need anything. You know you can give me a ring and I'll be right there." He says.

"y'know, tryin to find somthin that'll cover ya ears and ya tail is gonna be hard to find." Sans say aloud.

"Why would you want to do that?" Gaster questions. "You are a proud child of the monster race, don't let these humans get to you."

"Alright, alright. I will show my monster pride." I say giggling then glaring ar Sans knowing he did that on purpose. "Are you ready Sans?"

"of course." He says taking my hand and we appear front of a tall building in n unfamiliar part of town.

"Where is this?" I question.

"this is a mall. have ya never been inside one before?" He asks me.

"Of course not. My mother did my clothes shopping for me because I didn't like to go out in public." I reply. We walk inside and a burst of air hits me in the face.

"me neither, the shoppin part.." He says and we proceed inside the building seeing a multitude of tiny stores inside the bigger building. We walked forward and looked around, I searched for clothes that would make me feel like me. I walked in the men's store and the women's stores, but none of the ones I went in had anything that caught my attention.

"This is going to take forever." I say looking around the complex once more.

"what about this store?" Sans says dragging me inside. I plop down not wanting to look at anything and he goes and pick something out for me. He comes back with a black off the shoulder dress with a length that stops just before the knees and it was right fitted.

"Are you sure I should where that?" I ask a little unsure.

"of course i'm sure. c'mon on, let's head to the check and get the dress." He says dragging me over to the counter.

"Fine. I swear, sometimes you are a pain." I say pulling out the credit card and swiping. What's done is done, no going back now.
