*Savannah's POV* You call Henry that night after you know Josh is actually sleeping and cry and cry to him on the phone. You cry about Raymond breaking up with you at first, but then you cry about your parents, and finally you cry more about the fact that having cancer just really sucks. He tells you that he'll go pack up all of your stuff at Raymond's and move it back to your grandma's house, and you thank him and then hang up and go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning Josh is sitting on the couch looking out the window and talking on his phone. "Please come? I miss you. I get so bored here. All I can do is sit in my bed. They only take me out for therapy. I finally got Nicole to move me to the window couch so I can at least look at the cars below." he says, talking quietly obviously to try and not wake you. "No, Nicole is one of my nurses. Savannah is my roommate." "I don't think she really likes me." "Well I try and be nice. I don't know." "I think I annoy her when I talk to her." "I don't know. Maybe she'll like you. She liked my mom" "Her boyfriend broke up with her." "No because of the cancer." "I know I seriously wanted to punch him in the face, and I don't even know him." "Please come." "Okay bye," "Yeah, love you too." You hear just Josh's end of the conversation, and you try and decide if you're angry with him for talking about you to who knows who, or happy that he's angry with Raymond. You sit up in bed and the movement gets Josh's attention. "Oh hey! didn't realize you were up." he says smiling. "Why do you smile so much." You say, flatly. "I don't know. I just, I'm happy I guess." He says looking at you. "how are you happy? You're paralyzed. You can't move. You can't do anything for yourself. You're stuck in the fucking hospital. You have a terrible roommate and you're fucking paralyzed. Why are you not more upset." You say, getting more upset about the fact that he's not upset than you should. "I was upset. The first three days. I just, I'm trying to be positive because when I wasn't it made me and the people around me even less happy and I don't want to live my life that way." he says, "And you're not a terrible roommate." "See why do you do that?" you say, sitting so your legs are hanging off the edge of the bed and you're facing Josh, "I do nothing but treat you terribly. I yell at you and ignore you and when I do talk to you, I'm always rude to you. Why do you treat me so nice when I act the way I do." Josh smiles "You're not always rude to me. Sometimes you're nice. When you don't think about being mean. When You let your guard down, like the other day when Henry was here. When you found out I was your roommate I could tell you didn't like me already. So I figured If I was just nice, you would possibly change your opinion about me." "I'm not going to change my opinion so you can stop being nice." you say to him. "Alright. Just tell me one thing." he says. "What?" you say, figuring you can at least answer one question."Why," he questions, "Why do you hate me so much?"
