*Savannah's POV* "Guess what" Josh says, the next day after you woke up from your treatment nap and were already back snuggling in his bed. "What?" you ask him, turning your body so you can see him. "I got permission to take you out of the hospital again next week" Josh says with a smile, "It's good we followed the rules last time" You smile, not knowing how to respond but knowing that smiling will show him you're happy about it. "Soooo, I just have one very important question." Josh says to you. "and what's that?" you ask curiously. "Will you be my valentine?" he asks with a crooked grin spreading across his face. You lean up and kiss him quickly and say "of course I will." He lets out a sigh of relief like he actually thought there was a chance in hell you were going to say no. "So then, It's a date." he says. It is a date indeed, a date that you're looking for, but also a date you're scared of. "I haven't had a girlfriend on Valentine's Day since I was like, 14." Josh says after you don't respond. You laugh at him halfheartedly but your mind is still racing. Valentine's Day is a day of love, and you're still not sure if you love Josh. How could you not, he's prefect. He's the perfect guy, literally. He goes out of his way to do nice things for you, he compliments you all. the. time, he snuggles and lets you be yourself, but you're still terrified to let him into that part of the heart. "Savannah!" you hear him say loudly and realize you must've been zoning out. "Sorry, I uh, was kinda out of it for a second there." you say still trying to focus on what's happening. "It's okay, you're cute when you zone out. But uh, is something wrong, you seem bothered." "Oh, no." you say lying, "No, really I'm okay. Sorry, so um, how are you feeling?" you ask, trying your best to change the subject. You must've been convincing, because Josh says "I am alright, you know it's weird actually feeling things on my legs again. Like your hand when you sit down or the doctors at therapy." he says. "Well that's good. I don't really know, I guess, like, do your legs hurt?" you ask him. "Not when we're just sitting here, but when I use them for more than a few seconds they do." he says, "it makes me feel bad that I actually feel pain now when you've been feeling it this whole time." "Never feel bad about that, Josh. Never." you say sternly, "I hate being pitied. And it’s not your fault my treatment has side effects." Josh gets quiet for a second. "Alright," he says, "I'm so proud of you Savi, you've been so strong through all of this." The next week goes on, spending time with Josh and then the date of February 14th comes. The date you've only ever celebrated with one boy. Raymond. You and Josh check out of the hospital, and go your separate ways. Henry picks you up, going to get Josh a present and then go home and change into a nice outfit, while Josh is 'going home to change' but you know he's probably planning something special as well. You go to the mall, picking out Josh's present at a few different stores, and then Henry brings you home. "Do you have a date tonight?" you ask him as you walk into the house. "No ma'am, it's just me and my little Valentine." he says, going and picking up Rosie and kissing her forehead. You go upstairs to your old room, where Henry has all your stuff from Raymond's put into random places. You open your closet and find a dress that you had thought used to make you look fat, but now fits better. It's a very tight strapless sweetheart neckline, andit goes midthigh. It's a silvery grey shimmer color, which you add a belt to and wear boots that go up to your high shin. You curl your hair, apply makeup, and almost on queue the doorbell rings.
