here's another chapter, hope you enjoy. thanks for reading. love you all.

I woke to the sound of someone knocking at my door. I didn't want anyone to be at my door, I want to burry my head, and get some more sleep.

But the knocking continued, so I climbed out of bed, and staggered towards the door.

My eyes were still blurry, when I got to the door; I had a peep whole but I didn't use it before I opened the door.

"Shayla were you still in bed?" "I was." At first I didn't recognize the voice, but then it became crystal freaking clear who it is. "Cormac what are you doing here? Did I not make myself clear last night? Stay away from me." He walked past me, and into my apartment. "What are you doing here? Get out of here!" "No I won't leave until I get the chance to explain myself." He said closing the door. "No I don't want to hear it, just leave, and never come back here again!" I could feel my fire starting to rise, and the change starting to happen. "Shayla don't do this. You have to calm down!" "I will if you leave and never come back." "Fine I'll leave, just remember I tried to talk to you." He closed the door behind him, once I was sure he was gone, I forced the change to stop.

I regained control, and collapsed the floor. Everything crashed around me.

Lilith climbed in my lap; purring.

"Don't worry, he won't bother us again. Thank you I feel much better now." I put her down, and got to my feet. I don't know what I'm going to do now, everything has gotten so messed up; all I wanted to new life. But now all that is gone, and now I have nothing, no job there is no way I can work at the book store now, I have nothing.

I looked at my clock it's past eight, I can still catch breakfast. I pulled on a pair of jeans, and top and jacket. This time Lilith didn't try and follow me, just stared at me, while I walked out the door.

Mia is nowhere to be seen, not even a note this time. I left her one, saying I would be back in a while.

I walked out the door, the sun is out, but cloud cover is coming in, and there is a storm is on the way, I can feel it in my bones, and I think it is going to be a bad one. Walking down the street; there's not many people on the street, but who are, seem very friendly, unlike before. As I got closer to the diner, I noticed a cab at the corner, and someone getting some stuff from the trunk.

He looked up, as soon as I saw him, I knew, its Quinn Von the dragon hunter. What is he doing here?

I tried to avoid him, but once he paid the cab, he looked at me, and it clicked. "Shayla is that you?" Smiling. "Yeah Quinn. What are you doing here?" "I'm moving here now. My parents died in an accident. My uncle Mike is my legal guardian now. Why are you here?" "That's slightly more complicated. Mike is your legal guardian now? He's your Uncle?"

He nodded, and grabbed his stuff and pointed to the diner. "Yes on all accounts. Come on let's get something to eat, and tell me about it." Shaking my head. "I can't, not right now at least, maybe some other time. Listen I'm sorry about your parents." "Thanks. Ok tonight then." I nodded. "Ok my place, we'll have dinner and talk." He nodded. "Good. You left so quickly I never really got to know you." "Yeah sorry about that. Listen I have to go. I will meet you back here tonight, at six." He smiled. "It's a date."

I nodded and walked off, trying not to run, as to raise suspicions about me. I got as far away from him as I can, walking until I am out of his line of sight. I didn't realize at the time where I was heading. I stopped and took a look at where I ended up; I'm at the forest, where I know I belong.
