Chapter 64
We fought with fists and knives. I wanted my gun, but I dropped it, and can't get to it, for him. He has me pinned against a tree, and Quinn is still out cold. His breathing is still erratic; I just have to hope that he's okay.
"All I wanted was for us to be together. That's all I wanted. Now you have to die."
"No! I'm not the one that's going to die Cormac it's you, that will die tonight." Fighting with all my might, but he is a lot stronger than me.
"You must fight my dear. You are stronger than he is. Fight!"
She's right.
Pushing against him, I grabbed Quinn's sword, lying at my feet, shoving it right into his heart, pinning him to the ground under me. He's still alive, but barely.
"When I first saw you, I wanted to be with you, truly I did. But you took it too far. All of this was you're doing. Now you will never hurt anyone ever again." Giving the knife one last shove, his eyes rolled back into head, and his chest stopped moving. Now covered in blood, I moved off of him; leaving the knife in his chest, I ran over to Quinn who is still unconscious.
Dropping next to him, starting to shake him.
"Quinn! Dam it Quinn wake up!"
He won't wake up, no matter what I do, he won't open his eyes. Tears started streaming down my cheeks, looking up at the sky, it's started snowing again, but lightly. For a moment he stopped breathing, dam it!
"Dam it Quinn you can, not leave me like this. Not after everything we have been through since September." Taking a deep breath. "Eliana is there a way to save him?"
"I don't know. You could bite him, or give him blood. I'm sorry, I have never heard of anyone being turned. I'm so sorry child."
Grabbing my dagger, I sliced my wrist, pressing it to his mouth, forcing him to swallow as much as he can. Then just to be safe, I grabbed his arm, and bit into it.
Waiting for something to happen, I started pounding on his chest.
Pounding my fist on his chest, he coughed; gasping for air. "Thank god!" He looked around trying to figure out what's going on. "Is it over?" I nodded. Kissing him.
"Yes it's over. He's gone. It's finally over." I gave him a long slow kiss, and helped him sit up. We're both covered in blood. "We have to get out of here." I have no idea if whatever I just did to him, did anything to him or not. But I have to tell him, even if anything doesn't happen, I have to tell him what I just did.
I nodded, helping him stand. He looked around, gaze setting on Cormac's body. "What are we going to do with the body?" I asked motioning to the body a few feet away from us. "Burry him, it's the only thing we can do." He moved away from me, pulling something out of the bag, somehow he managed to fit a shovel in there; he tried to do it, but I took it from him. There's blood all over the snow, but hopefully all of it will disappear soon.
"No you sit, and I will do that. I have to be the one to take care of it."
I sat him down, and got to work burying him. Looking at him, there doesn't seem to be anything different about him at the moment, but all that could change.
"Quinn there's something I have to tell you. You would stop breathing, I thought you were dead, I gave you blood, and bit you hoping that it might change you, in order to save your life." "You what? Did it work?" "I don't know. Do you feel any different?" Shaking his head. "No, not really. Thank you for trying to save me like that. I love you." "I love you too." I said and continued to bury him.
After I got him buried; I helped Quinn back to the car, and drove him home. He still doesn't seem different, let's just hope that nothing does come of what I did to him.
"It's over Quinn. It's really over; we are finally free." He looked at me, smiling. "Yes we are." Taking my hand, we both still have our rings on, making us one.
"You have done well my love. You both have done well."
After months of suffering we are finally free.
