I adjusted my purse, and asked. "So do you have a market around here?" She nodded. "Yeah, on Main Street, come with me." "Hold on, I thought I would drive. So hop in." She smiled, and climbed in the car, and we drove off. As we drove, I looked around the town, some more.

It was September, and the flowers were still quite lovely. Tina pointed me to the left, and there it was the market, with huge flower pots out front. I'm not sure why, but when I pulled over, I felt a smile, creep across my face.

Tina climbed out, and I followed her towards the front door. After we got inside, Tina grabbed a basket, and said. "Alright, I need a few things as well, so why don't you get your stuff, and we'll meet at the front, in a bit." I nodded. "Ok take your time." I grabbed a cart, and tried to find my way around.

I got everything I needed, which was a lot, I realized, since I left most of my stuff at my old place with a note to my land lord.

I made my way to the front, and realised everyone that was in the store, was staring at me. I got that uneasy sensation, going down my spine again. It was stronger than it was before, and I got the feeling that there was something wrong with this town. I was loading my stuff on the belt, when Tina popped up behind me, saying.

"Hey you done?" I almost had a heart attack. I turned around, and said. "Yeah I think I have everything I need, for now, how about you?" she nodded, and said. "Yeah I think so. Would you mind giving mind giving me a ride home? It's on your way." I nodded, and said. "Of course, it's the least I could do, since you helped me move all my stuff in." She gave me a hug, and a smile, and waited for me to finish up. By the time I paid, everything I got cost me a lot less, then I thought it would. So there are two possibilities for why that is.

(1 things are lost cheaper here, and

(2 there giving me a discount because I'm the newbie in town. Either way I wasn't complaining. I helped the cashier bag my stuff, while Tina loaded her stuff on the belt. She eyed me suspiciously but that didn't stop me from helping her. We finished up, and were loading my stuff, in my car, and I was about to start with hers, but Tina stopped me, putting her stuff in on her own. We climbed in the car and she gave me directions to her house. She's right it's not that far from my place. Grabbing her bags we headed up to the front door. She opened the door and allowed me to go in first. She led me to the kitchen, took the bags, and almost pushed me out the front door, not letting me see anything in her place.

I didn't know what to think about what just happened, so I walked back to my car, and headed back to my apartment. It took me a few trips to unload everything. By the time, I got to my last load; Mia was standing, at the door, going into the living room. "Hello Mia." "You did some shopping, I see." I nodded. "Yes I'm sorry I should have asked if you needed anything." "Oh that's alright dear. I serve dinner at 6:00 your welcome to join me, although no one else does." I smiled, and said. "I really appreciate it." I started to walk towards the stairs. I stopped reconsidered, and said.

"You know what; I think I will join you, if that's still alright?"

Her face lit up, and she said.

"Yes of course dear, it's 6:00 sharp." I nodded. "I will see you at six then." She nodded, and I picked up my stuff, and headed upstairs. I arrived at my door, to find a cat sitting there.

When it heard me coming, it looked up, and turned its head, to the side.

We stared at each other, for a moment, than I gently moved it to the side, with my foot, so I could open my door. The cat didn't move until I was about to close the door, then it darted inside to join me. I've never had a pet before, anywhere I went animals avoided me, and dogs were the worst. One tried to take a piece of flesh out of me once.

So I usually tried to avoid them at all cost.

So why was this cat so different? I don't know, but I do know one thing...it's strange. I watched as the cat went from box to box, smelling everything. I didn't know what it smelt, so I just left it to its own thing.

I grabbed my bags of food and things, and went back down to get the rest of it, and went over to the little kitchen, and started putting things away.

I was putting some cans in the cupboard, when I noticed the cat was sitting on the counter staring at me. How did it get on the counter? "Yes, what can I do for you?" it didn't do anything, just sat there staring. I reached over to pet it; it flinched a little, but didn't run away. As I scratched it, I moved my hand to his side, and could feel how skinny it was. So I grabbed a can of stew, and picked out some meat, for it, and I got it a dish of milk as well. I finished up, and left her to her meal. Stepping into the living room, I grabbed a box, and started unpacking; I didn't have much, always being on the move, you tend to pack light.

You can't afford to have things that can slow you down, when you're always on the run.

I unpacked what little I had, some books, cd's. There are some built in shelves, so I started stacking everything. I emptied the box, turned around, and saw that the cat was sitting on the back of the couch staring at me. Its little eyes blinking at me.

"So are you going to help me, or just sit there?" it just blinked, and started cleaning itself. I sighed, and grabbed two bags, and went to my room.

The cat followed me, and jumped onto the dresser. I unzipped my bag, and took some stuff over to my dresser. I scratched the things head, and said. "Well I guess I should give you a name, if you'll be staying with me." I thought for a moment, looked at one of my books, and said.

"I am going to go old school for you." I looked at it, picked up the book, and went through it finding the perfect name for it, and put it back down, and said.

"Well you're a girl. So I am going to call you, Lilith." She didn't seem to mind the name at all. Black as night, eyes green as emeralds. I finished unpacking, my clothes, and came to a very special box.

It contains the last bit of my mother, and my sister, other than the blood running through my veins. Tears started to well up in my eyes, I saw the cat staring, and I wiped them away, and scratched her head. There is a small glass cabinet a perfect place for the stuff. I opened the box, and pulled out some of the stuff.

There are drawings of my old life, my friends, my mom, and my sister, in both dragon, and there human forms.

These few little things are all I have left of my family. I found my mom's necklace, our family crest, a dragon with a rose in its claw. Finely I pulled out the crown, the crown that should have gone to my sister.

After she died, I became queen.

I had never wanted it, any of it, not being queen, probably now the last dragon on earth. I wiped it off, setting down a small cloth on the shelf, and put the crown on the shelf front, and center. I closed the cabinet, and turned to see the cat still staring at me.

"Look Lilith I don't know what you want from me, but stop staring at me like that." She turned her head, and started cleaning herself.

I rolled my eyes, and started collapsing the boxes. I grabbed all them, and put them in the closet, so I had them in case I have to leave again. "So Lilith, what is there to do in this town?" She stopped cleaning herself, and hopped off the dresser, and headed over to my bed, and curled up into the ball. "Fine I will go find out for myself." I still had some time before dinner, so I grabbed my keys, and headed down.

I found Mia in the kitchen; I cleared my throat, and said.

"Mia I'll be out for a bit, but I will be back in time for dinner." She nodded, and said.

"Of course dear have fun, but beware there are some crazy people in town." She gave me a wink, and turned back to the stove.

Nervously I laughed and said.

"I'll see you in a bit then."

I left her alone to her own business, suddenly a weird out by this town, and walked out the front door.
