          Chapter 51

"Morning you two." Lisa said as we walked to the back. Once again, just like every other morning lately, she has most of the baking done, ready and waiting for us.

"You have to stop doing this." Quinn said, coming up beside her. "But why? If I can't sleep then why shouldn't I do something useful?" She said looking at us both in turn. "Yeah I guess, but you are going to burn yourself out, if you don't slow down and relax."

"Oh stop being such a baby. I get more than enough sleep. So let's get back to work; we have a shop to open."

Sighing, we got to work, just like any other day when we've come into work; I decorated my cupcakes, made a few pies and other things, while the others worked in their own corners.

After a while, Quinn came up next to me. "I have to get going, Tina should be here soon." "Okay. Where are you going?" He gave me a kiss on the cheek. "It's nothing, just some things I need to take care of. I shouldn't be long." He gave me one last kiss, grabbed his jacket and left; saying by to Lisa as he left. Just as I got a tray finished, Tina walked in; I didn't have to look up to know, I can smell her when she walk's into a place.

"Well hello ladies." Looking over, she's holding a tray of Coffey and bag of I don't know what inside.

"So where do we start?" She asked setting her stuff on the counter by me. "You can take care of the muffins." "Great. I like baking, let's have some fun, shall we?"

Tina is always so chipper whenever I see her, it makes me wonder where she came from.

"Perhaps it's from all the caffeine at the diner. But she is an odd girl that one."

I tried to suppress a laugh, but it didn't work very well.

"You alright over there?" "Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry about me." Eliana is so going to get me into trouble, if she's not careful!

After about an hour of baking, the three of us, got enough done to open, as soon as I hit the open sign, people started coming in. I still don't know people by name, but I know them to see them, and of course every single one of them, knows my name.

But I have no idea who they are. People came and went, buying everything they can get their hands on.

By noon we have to make more stuff, and lucky for us, we had stuff mostly ready, we just had to put it all in the ovens.

"Tina why don't you go get some food for us." She nodded, taking off her apron. I gave her some money and she took our orders, heading out.

"She is quite the good little worker isn't she?" I nodded, pulling out a tray up cupcakes.

"I just wish we could steal her away from the diner; but I don't think she'll go for it." "Who won't go for what?" Looking behind us Quinn is standing in the door to the kitchen, how hadn't we heard him come in?

"What is happening to our senses?"

I have no idea, but we have to get it back to normal. "How long have you been back for?" "I just got in as Tina left. Is every-thing alright here?" I nodded, setting more in the ovens. "She just went to get some food. How did everything go?" "It went fine. How have things been here?"

He deflected the question; what was he really up to today? Looking at him, something has happened, but why won't he tell me?

"We've done well today, we sold out of most things."

I said smiling at Lisa, who just finished one of her marvelous cakes. "When people come in every day, you have to wonder what some people are doing with what they buy."

I said making more colored icing.

The front door opened, I didn't have to look up to know who it is. I can smell Tina as soon as she walked through the door.

Her I can smell and sense, but when it comes to Quinn I can't smell or sense him anymore.

"You are in love with him. It is not so crazy; to wonder why."

Rolling my eyes, I went back to work; setting a tray of cooled cupcakes on the counter.

"So who is hungry?" Tina asked setting the bags and drink tray down, and pulling off her coat. "It is cold out there today. Winter is most definitely upon us."

The others ate, but I'm not in the mood right now; I just want to keep working at the moment.

They talked about things going on around town while I worked, I tried to listen, but I kept drifting out of their conversations to my own thoughts, wondering what is going on with my senses when it comes to Quinn.

Everything about him and I don't make sense at all. I should be able to sense and smell him at all times, but now I can't, and I have to figure out why.

Other then what Eliana says about it. Reopening the shop the others worked while I had a quick break, sitting back and watching them work.

As people came and went, I could hear people asking about me, but Quinn covered for me saying that I had to step out for a moment. For which I am very grateful for.

Since it's getting closer to Christmas, our hours are getting shorter, so people will know we will be closed for Christmas day as well as for Christmas Eve.

By four we were sold out of most things, and what we didn't sell out of, we split up between all of us.

After we got cleaned up, Quinn handed us each an envelope and locked up, heading for home.

"See you both in the morning, thanks for all your hard work today." "See you in the morning."

They waved as they walked off, Quinn opened the door for me, and drove for home.
