       Chapter 46

Stepping into the house Lisa took one look around, and whistled. "Wow you sure made this place look like Santa's village. It looks good." "Thanks. I needed to do something after Mia, you know, and this was it." She nodded. "I do." "Let's get something to eat." Quinn said leading us both to the kitchen. He started pulling stuff from the fridge and the freezer, throwing I have no idea what together.

"Why don't you two go have a look in your closet see if you can come up with outfits for the party? And I will get cooking, before we all starve."

Smiling, I gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Good idea. Come on Lisa." I said grabbing her arm leading me to my room.

Stepping into my room, she looked around. She said. "I still can't believe she's gone. This place will never be the same without her. She was one of the elders, and at times she kind of ran everything. She was a great woman, and I will miss her terribly."

"I know. I can't even go into her room, right now. We went through some of her stuff, like her clothes and have donated them, but I covered everything with sheets and locked the door, it just didn't feel right being in her room, so I have this room and Quinn has the other room."

She gave me a look. "Don't give me that look. No we're not sleeping together. In fact I'm not even sure what we are, you know, like that."

I like him, but I don't know what will happen, if we do go there. I really like him, but I don't want something like that to ruin everything here. Sighing I opened my closet, there's everything he got me when we were in New York. But there is a garment bag that wasn't there before. Opening it, the most beautiful dress I have ever seen before.

A floor length gown, dark red Tulle with black tulle going through it underneath.

A one shoulder tulle sash going down the back. A line of jewels at the waist. With one strap going over the shoulder.

"This is amazing. But how could he know?" Zipping it back up, I pulled out other dresses looking for something perfect for Lisa to wear to the party.

After a few choices, she settled on a dress, on her it goes just below the knees, dark purple; with purple tulle draping over the top.

Shallow V-neck with thick shoulder straps. "Thank you. I will get it back to you after the party. It will be in perfect condition when I get it back to you."

"Not a problem. It will look great on you." "Thank you. That dress won't need much in the way of jewellery, so that necklace you're wearing now, will work perfectly." Fingering the moon Quinn gave me, she's right it will go perfectly with the dark red tulle.

"Ladies how are things going in here?" Turning around, Quinn is standing in the doorway. "We're almost done here." I said looking at Lisa.

"Good, dinner's almost ready. Then I have something else planned for us."

"What could he have in mind? I don't sense anything on him; so it's nothing bad, it's something strange. But I do not think we need to be concerned about it."

I want to talk to her, with all the time we were apart; but I can't do that, not with Lisa in the room with us.

"I'm sorry my dear. I did not mean to worry or upset you. You and I will be together for a very long time to come."

She settled down, coating me in her warmth, and comfort. The three of us stepped out of my room, the smells coming from all over the house, stepping into the kitchen; he has made a huge meal for us.

Pouring us each a glass of wine; we sat at the table and enjoyed our meal together.

We talked about what will happen at the party; he had talked to Tina and she is coming to the party as well, and is looking forward to it. Eliana talked to me, but I couldn't talk to her back, with Lisa being there and all.

For a second I thought about telling her, but I don't know if she could handle it or not, or if we can even trust her with something like this.

After Lisa leaves, we are going out for a flight, I have to get up there, stretch out my wings. "Shayla? Hey Shayla are you in there?" "Yeah. Sorry I was lost in thought. So Lisa on Friday come over and we will get ready for the party together. And I thought the three of us could head over together. You know safety in numbers."

She nodded, taking another sip of her wine. Quinn cleared his throat. "I was thinking that on Friday we would close the shop, or if we have it open, only have it open for a couple hours in the morning."

We nodded, agreeing with that, which I am very grateful for. I don't want to go to that party, but I don't really have much of a choice in the matter, I want to do this for Quinn, it will be only the second time that I will be in that house.

There will be tones of other people there, so it shouldn't be too bad, when it comes.

But it will come at the perfect time, with people everywhere. It will be the perfect time to do a little snooping, around the house.

If his Uncle is really another hunter then he will have books and things in the house somewhere that could help me, with the whole Cormac situation.

I just have to figure out how I could do that, without anyone seeing me. There will be people all over the house, so it may be possible, but it will indeed be difficult.

Lisa and I cleaned up while Quinn got dessert ready. Quinn said we're going into the den, we nodded and followed him; Mia and I spent a lot of time in the room before all this, it's like she's still here with me, comforting me.

Stepping into the den, there's a large Christmas tree sitting in front of the window. There's lights on it, but no decorations yet. Just as I opened my mouth to say something, but someone knocked on the door.

Lisa answered it, and walked back in the room with Tina right behind her. "Tina I am happy you came." "I'm sorry I'm late." "Nonsense you're right on time." He opened a couple bins, producing tree ornaments.

Quinn cut us each a piece of cake, and started pulling out ornaments.

Mia had good taste, there all very beautiful, as we decorated the tree, I even put some music on, completing the evening, for trimming a tree.

After we trimmed the tree, the girls fell asleep, so we put them in my bed, and I followed Quinn into his.

"You sleep in here, and I'll sleep on the couch. Just let me get some clothes." He started to move past me, but I grabbed his hand. "No it's your room; stay with me. I don't want to be alone tonight."

He quickly undressed as I climbed under the covers. I moved to my side, facing the dresser, Quinn moved closer to me; holding me close,

"Sweet dreams my dear." "You too. Thank you for tonight." "You're very welcome. But you never have to thank me. Now close your eyes, and go to sleep."

Closing my eyes, I drifted off, feeling the warmth of Quinn holding me tight against him.
