New chapter. hope you enjoy. thanks for reading.

November went by like that. One minute it's the first of the month, then the next thing I know its thanksgiving. Mia invited me to dine with her, which I accepted.

"Hey Quinn. Do you have any plans for thanksgiving?" "Why what's up?" We're in the kitchen, making last minute treats before we open.

We decided to make different kinds of pie, we asked Mia to help, since none of us know how to make pastry.

"Mia invited me to dinner, and she asked if you would like to join, the both of you." I looked at Lisa who is busy doing apples for the pies.

"Sorry I have plans, but thank you for the offer." "Okay. How about you Lisa? Would you like to join us?" She smiled at me, then at Quinn. "I would love to, thank you." "Great. Come on we got a store to get open." I said throwing two pies in the oven.

"Are we going to bake them all?" "No just these ones, so they know what we have, but the rest will be in the freezer." Setting the timer, I got a bunch of boxes; so we can box and tag them.

Setting a stack in the freezer, someone knocked on the window. "I'll get it, it should be Tina." I said wiping off my hands. Just like I thought, its Tina tray and two bags in hand. "Hey you're just in time." She came in, and I relocked the door until we have the last of the pies done. "You can come on back. If people see us, there think we're open, and we're not quite ready yet." She nodded. "Okay. How are things going here?" "There fine. We just have to finish up and we're ready to open." "That's great. I'm really happy for you. Have you seen Cormac lately?" "Nope. Not since after the Halloween ball." Not entirely true, but I can't tell her that. Since that night in the woods, he avoids me at all costs, and vice versa.

"Hey look who I found?" The others stopped, and looked at Tina as she set down everything from the diner. "Thank god we're starving."

Quinn said, taking the bag from her. "I don't have to be back to work for a while. Is there anything I can do to help?" "Sure how are you at making pies?" "Not bad. I've made them a few times. Where should I start?"

Taking a huge bite of his burger, he said. "You can start on the Pumpkin, we're baking one, to have on display, then freezing the others, and taking them out, as we sell them."

She nodded.

"Are we making them from scratch?" He nodded.

"Yeah, but lucky for you, I have it ready. It's in the fridge, and we should have enough shells ready." She nodded. "Okay then, I will wash up, and get to work."

Taking a sip of my Coffey, I pulled out my food, and sat on one of the counters for a couple minutes while I ate. Lisa won't stop, she's made about a dozen apple pies so far by now, but she's doing more than that. She a robot, she has to be.

"Lisa, you need to eat. So stop for two minutes, and eat something."

She sighed and grabbed her container, sitting next to me. I caught Tina giving; Quinn a look, but he shrugged and took another bite.

"Alright, we're ready. Thank you Tina for helping us."

"Of course, it was fun. But I have to get back to work. See you all later." "Hold on a sec." He said walking up to her, and handed her a small envelope. "Thank you for helping us." She nodded, gave him a peck on the cheek and walked out; heading back for the diner.

"Are we ready?" He asked looking at us, we nodded and he lit the open sign.

Stepping behind the counter, Quinn gave my hand light squeeze, as people started coming in, to get there treats, and desert for dinner tonight.

Everyone that came in, bought at least one pie, plus every-thing else they usually bye. Most people were at the ball, but some weren't, and I can't help but wonder if there in from out of town, meeting up with family or something.

"Shayla we need more apple pies here." Lisa said, boxing up goodies for Mrs. Brown, I nodded and ran to the back, grabbing a stack of apple pies, giving her a couple, and handing the rest out; taking money, and doing the same thing over and over.

Quinn put up his hands, stopping everyone where they stand.

"Everyone please. We will help you all, just please be patient." I gave him a smile; and we got back to work; helping everyone as fast as we can. "Next in line please." I got her a pumpkin pie, a cherry pie, and a dozen brownies, and sent her off so I can help the next one in line.

By 2:00 everyone in town came through, almost wiping us out of everything. The only one in town, that I know of that hasn't come through is Mia. I was about to say something, but Mia came in; a large basket on her arm.

"Hello everyone. It is wonderful to see you."

"What can we get for you Mia?" "An apple pie, pumpkin pie, and pick out anything you like for dinner tonight." I nodded, and Lisa went back to get her pies.

"Did Shayla ask the both of you if you wanted to join us for dinner?" They nodded. "I can't unfortunately, but thank you for the offer." Quinn said, giving her the change. "Lisa what about you?" "I would love to come thank you."

"Great. Both of you to right over after your done work." "Will do Mia. Do you need us to bring anything?" "No thank you. I will see you soon." Taking her basket, she walked out waving as she went.

"I need to run home. Will the two of you be alright?" We nodded. "Great. I won't be gone long. Thank you." That leaves Quinn and me. He stayed out front, and I went to the kitchen, and to start the long clean up, so we won't be here too late.

"Hey Lisa. You weren't gone for long."

I heard Quinn talking to her. Stepping out, Lisa has an outfit draped over her arm, and in the other, she has a pair of heels. She smiled at me, and was about to say something, but someone came in, and she came to the back, hanging up her dress.

"Has anyone came in since I left?" "A couple, but not many." Shrugging. "I guess everyone came in already." "That is why we're closing early."

Quinn said, coming in, making us both jump. "It is thanksgiving after all. Go have a nice dinner, and we will see you tomorrow." "You sure? People could still come in." "I don't think so. Go on, I have to be somewhere soon anyways."

Taking off my apron, grabbed my bag.

"Here I know Mia came and got stuff, but take this."

He said handing us each a box. I gave him a peck on the cheek. "Have a nice thanksgiving Quinn." "You too, both of you." Lisa gave him a peck, and followed me out, since we're going to same location.
