                   Epilogue

December 31 2014

After what happened in the forest between Quinn Cormac and I; we got our lives back, we made it look like Cormac left town, leaving a note saying he had to leave, but he didn't take any of his stuff with him, we said it was too hard for him to be here, and said he was sorry, and left.

Quinn talked to his Uncle about what to do with the shop, he said they would figure it out.

Lisa and Tina said we are much better off without him being in town.

Today Quinn and I took some fresh flowers to Mia's grave, telling her how much we miss her. "She really did love you, you know." I nodded, as we walked back to the car, walking through snow. It started to snow again, it's done it almost nonstop since Christmas day.

We're on our way back home, the girls are coming over for New Year's Eve, and we have to get the house ready. Everything's gone back to normal, but I still have to live with the fact that I killed someone, even though he deserved it, I still killed him, and I have to live with that.

Something did come of what I did to him that night, giving him blood and biting him, he did make the change, we don't know whether it was the blood or not. His dragon is all black, but smaller than mine. He said he doesn't have a voice like I do, maybe he will develop one, or maybe not. His eyes go silver when he makes the change.

He says he loves being up there, when we fly, watching him, is so wonderful, it makes us both feel free.

I cleaned the house, while Quinn cooked, and by eight o-clock we had the house looking good.

Just as I pulled on a little black dress and my moon necklace the girls walked in.

We partied until two minutes to twelve, just as the clock started to count down to midnight, Quinn took me aside. Hand in mine, he said, opening a small box.

"Shayla Lightning. After everything we have been through the past few months, and becoming like you, which I love by the way, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, for centuries to come. Will you marry me?"

I can't believe he just asked me that. "Yes I will marry you." slipping the oval cut ruby, with small black stones in a gold setting on my finger, it's the most amazing thing I have ever gotten.

He kissed me as the bell dropped at midnight. Breaking apart, he said, smiling.

"Happy New Year my love."

Now we'll have the rest of our lives together.
