   Chapter 61

"What are you tired?" I said moving out of the way before he can slice through me.

"Just getting some air." He said; hands on his knees. We've only been at this for a couple hours, he is winded, but I'm not of course.

"Did you eat too much at Christmas or something?" I said jokingly. "No. I just need a minute." Taking a deep breath, he stood up strait coming at me again. This time he for a good cut in, slicing right through my top.

"Shit. That was a good hit." "Thanks. You alright?" I nodded, pressing a towel to my side, holding it tight. Quinn said.

"I think we've had enough for today." I nodded, and set one of my knives down and followed Quinn upstairs.

Stepping into my room, Quinn is still behind me. "Let me see it." "No. It's fine. I can take care of it." "Don't be like that, let me see it!" He said, moving his hands to my side. I removed the towel and letting his see the wound.

"It's no longer bleeding, but it will take a little longer to heal over completely. But I need to clean it up first, just to be safe."

He left, and quickly came back with water and a wash cloth. Setting them down, he helped me pull off my shirt and started washing the blood off my side.

"I got you good didn't I? I'm sorry." "Don't be. I've had a lot worse. You did well down there, soon we will be ready to face Cormac. But for now, we must rest."

He put a bandage on the wound and helped me with a new shirt, before helping me into bed. I told him I don't need help, but he won't listen to me. "You need to sleep. You should be healed in a while."

I nodded, lowering my head to the pillow. He started to leave, but I grabbed his hand. "Don't leave. I don't want you to leave." "I won't." Lying next to me; he stroked my cheek. "Not just tonight. No more sleeping in separate rooms, I want you to stay in here with me. I want you to move into this room with me permanently." He nodded.

"I won't leave. I will stay here, with you. No matter what." He gave me a kiss and put his head next to mine, watching. "Get some sleep."

Pain ripped through me, forcing a gasp from me; bolting upright in bed. "Shayla what is it?" "I don't know. But whatever it is, I don't like it." Throwing the covers back, my side, and the bed is covered in blood.

Lifting my shirt, the wound on my side has reopened, and everything around me is covered in blood.

"What happened? I thought it had heeled?" "Yeah so did I, but obviously I was wrong."

Moving around me, he had a better look at the still bleeding wound.

"This has to be stitched up. It would appear that it's the only way to get it to heal, for whatever reason, your wounds aren't healing like they were."

"No it's fine. It will heal, you just have to give it time."

He gave me an angry look.

"Don't give me that. I'm looking at it, and it won't be healing any time soon." As gently as he can, he got off the bed and left; but only for a second then came back with a first aid kit, and a small pot.

"You have to hold still. This will hurt, but at all cost you have to stay still."

"Why do you have a kit like that?" I asked grabbing the kit, going through it. "I have it for times like this. I picked it up after you said that we were going to be training, you know, just to be safe. And because I knew I would need it at some point." He set something on the wound, making me wince, at the sudden pain.

"Dam what is that?" I hissed out. "I'm cleaning the wound. Now hold still I'm giving you something to numb the pain, but it will still hurt a little bit."

After he injected me, searing pain ripped through me, I didn't have to look at them I know my eyes have become pure gold. "Don't move, or I will sew something that should not be stitched together, so do not move."

"Eliana I need your help for this." I said out loud, and frankly I don't care if he hears me.

He has heard me talking to her before, but at times I don't talk to her out loud like this.

"I am here for you my love. It will be over soon. Let me take partial control, you may rest."

As she said it, I can feel her slither through my mind and body, taking partial control over me, relaxing me.

"There I'm done." Quinn said a few short moments later. Eliana gave me back control settling back down, telling me she would be right here if she needed me.

"How do I look?" "Like a woman who was just put back together. I need to cover this, and we are done."

I tried to sit up, but Quinn stopped me with a firm hand on my shoulder.

"You need to stay still. Your body has been weakened quite a bit. I know you don't like to hear that term, but that's the way it is, so deal with it. Also your lower half is still numb, so even if you wanted to you can't move for a while yet."

He's right, I tried to get my legs to move, but they won't respond to any of my commands.

I watched as Quinn cleaned everything up, the way he moves, it's almost like he's done this kind of thing before.

"Have you stitched someone up before?" He looked at me, the look in his eyes, I know he's trying to come up with a lie, but he can't. "Who was it?" "A friend of mine. He got in a fight, and I had to bail him out. I had to do that a lot actually, for this person." He said shrugging.

"So I learned to sew, and got some practice from him." "Why didn't he just go to a hospital?" "It was complicated. So I helped him out until he got things under control, then he didn't need my help anymore."

That's all he said, I guess for now that's all he's going to tell me on the subject.

"So what are you going to do with all that? Because you can't just throw it out." He nodded, filling my waist basket. "I'm not going to throw it out, I am going to burn it all. It's the only way to make sure no one knows what happening here. I won't let anything happen to you ever again."

Leaning down on the bed, he kissed me. Not a slow kiss, a kiss like he wants to devour me whole, briefly pushing past my lips. Moving back, he gave me a smile. "I won't be gone long. Just lie back and relax." He left, leaving me alone.

"I have to do something. But I can't figure out how to do it."

"What are you trying to do?"

Eliana asked, spreading some warmth through me, relaxing me.

"We have to get rid of Cormac. He wants me I know that much. But how can I take care of him?"

We both started thinking about it. In order to get rid of him; I have to convince him I will be his, but how do I do that?

"What are you thinking so intently about?" Quinn asked coming back into the room.

"Just trying to make a plan is all. We have to get out of our lives once and for all." Climbing into bed, next to me; he gently pulled me into his arms, holding me close.

"You and I will figure it out. I know we will. Soon it will be just the three of us, once and for all."

I wish I can believe him, but I don't know how that will be, with Cormac breathing down our necks.

"Do not worry. I believe I am coming up with a wonderful plan to rid us of him once for all. Be patient, all will be well."

I believe her; if she's coming up with a plan, it will be the last one we will ever need.
