   Chapter 43

We found the door to the basement, it's not as creepy as I thought it would be, for such an old house, there's also not as much stuff down there as I thought there would be.

I found bins marked Christmas, and started pulling them out.

Then I found it; a large case, pulling it out its locked, but I easily got it open.

Moving a sheet; it's full of guns, all different types of guns. Shutting it, I called Quinn.

"What is it?" He answered, not bothering to say hello. "I need you to get home; I just found something, that I don't even know how to explain it." "I will be home as fast as I can." He hung up, and I got back to the bins, carrying them upstairs, leaving the bin of guns, sitting right where they are.

Just as I got the last bin up; when Quinn came in, a look or worry on his face.

"What happened? Are you alright?" "Well that I'm not so sure about. Come downstairs."

He followed me down to where I left the bin. "So I came down since it's close to Christmas, I thought it would be nice to try and cheer the place up a bit." "That's a nice idea, but what is it that got you so upset?" "Well I moved a bin and I found this." I said opening the bin, showing him what's inside.

"Oh my god! Where on earth would she get all those?" Shaking my head. "I have no idea, but now we have this; and I have no idea what we are going to do with any of it."

Quinn started going through it. I have no idea what they are; but he seems to know what they are. "These are insane. I have no idea why she would have them. Some are newer, and some of them are antique. What are you going to do with them?" Sitting next to him, I grabbed one of them, looking at it. "Why would she have all these?"

"I don't know, but we should tell someone about them." He said taking out his phone, but I grabbed it from him; pocketing it. "You can't tell your Uncle about these. Who knows where they came from, no one can know about them. So we will put them back where I found them, and keep them hidden."

"Your right. We don't know, and you're right that we can't tell my Uncle. So put the gun back and come upstairs with me."

We recovered the bin and went back upstairs, locking the door, leaving them where they are.

Where on earth did all those guns come from? And why would she have all them?

"So how was your meeting?" "It was fine thanks. So let's see what we have here." There's four bins, we each picked one up and carried them to the dining room.

"I really miss her you know." He nodded, setting them on the table. "I know, so do I. But she's happy." "How do you know?" "I just do, and so do you. So come on, let's get this stuff up." I nodded, and we started unpacking. There's garlands, wreaths and little things to put up all over the house.

"Did I tell you I have Eliana back?" "No you didn't that's great. Is she alright?" I nodded. "She is. She said she needed rest, but that she's better now."

"I am better, and thank you. Tell him thank you for me."

"She said thank you. She cares for you, and so do I." "I care for the both of you as well." He said pulling something from his pocket, handing it to me. "What's this for?" "I overheard you in the bathroom at the hotel. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, and I only heard your end, but I know your birthday is in a couple of days." I'm shocked, if he heard that, then what else did he hear? "Oh. Umm thank you, but really you didn't have to do that. My birthday is on Friday the sixteenth, this Friday." Moving up to me, stroking my cheek.

"You never have to be embarrassed to tell me anything. So go ahead, open it."

Smiling, I opened the box, sitting inside is a beautiful quarter half Celtic moon; necklace, with Celtic rope bands going around it, silver and gold. "Thank you it's beautiful. I love it." Closing it, I gave me a kiss and went back to work; setting the box on the table, and got back to work.

We got the house decorated, and Quinn made us something for dinner, while I put the bins back downstairs, avoiding a certain bin at all costs.

But I still don't understand why she would have all those guns, to begin with. She was a sweet old lady, why would she need all those guns?

Stepping into the kitchen, Quinn made us a light dinner, before we head to bed. After we ate; Quinn took me to my room, and settled me into bed; as he started to leave I grabbed his hand. "No don't leave, don't leave me alone." He nodded. "Okay, I won't leave. But you've had a hard day, so close your eyes, and go to sleep, I will be here when you wake up."

But I don't want to sleep; if I sleep then Cormac will come, I know he will, he won't stop until he has me, one way or another.

If he had anything to do with Mia dying, I know they said she had been sick; but the way he was acting; I have to think that he had something to do with it, and if he did then I will find it out; and I will kill him.

"I know you're not sleeping. Your eyes are closed but I know you're still awake. So close your eyes, and go to sleep."

Sighing I felt his lips on my hair, and I felt myself slip away, until I'm gone.

But that last thing I heard; is Quinn saying.

"I love you." Then it all goes black all around me sucking me under.
